First Jailbreak Q – A little hot out of the gate

Preamble:

Signed up for Footpath last night, so I could send the route to my Apple watch.  Not sure if it was gonna work.  Had a 4 miler lined up

Warm-O-Rama:

Nope. Forgot. Just took off running.  Disclaimer out there as I set the pace

The Thang:

Headed North, and the Footpath lady telling me where to turn through my watch was oh so pleasant.  Almost an accent, but not near as cool as Stiff Arms Australian accent right next to me.  Or maybe that was South African?  I’ll ask Baskins…

After the 1st mile Stiff Arm let me know our pace was around 8:30.  woops.  We usually have a great run here at Jailbreak around the 9:15-9:30 pace.  So I told the local expert, Ansel Adams, that I have no clue what pace I’m running, and my watch was showing the footpath directions.  I asked him to Q the 2nd half so we wouldn’t burn out.  It was then that either he or Mr. Hand proposed getting 5 miles in for the first time at Jailbreak.  Challenge on!  So Ansel paced us through and we achieved our goal.

I feel better when I don’t Q the running BD.
