EMOM Deck of Death

Preamble:

Last Stroller Q of 2020. Let’s go! Animal joined for a hard charge through Six Branches before we circled up for the disclaimer. Covid protocols in full effect.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey to the upper pavilion parking lot. The gazelles started with high knees and everyone picked up as they came in. Do this until Spandex started smack talking. Goal of no SSH achieved, continue with:

• Imperial Walker x 15
• Weedpicker x 10
• Toy Soldier x 12
• Control Freak Mercans x 6. Pulled this one from the Exicon- the Q calls both Up and Down. Take your time. It felt kind of lame after the first rep but high levels of pain were achieved shortly after

The Thang:

As we head toward the field, stop at the concession stand. Everyone grab some wall, and we’ll go around with each PAX dropping for 3 burpees while the rest of the PAX wall sit. Made it around then moved on to the field.

YHC received a Deck of Death from a colleague for Secret Santa. He knows me well. I’ve been looking forward to breaking it out. For a 2020 twist, we would do 2 burpees EMOM as we worked through the deck.

Standard Deck of Death fare, even if YHC forgot to remind everyone that the rep count for single digit cards was supposed to be card + 10. Apparently the older PAX needed to be told to bring their readers, leading to discussion of creating a RESPECT Deck for them. BOLO for this with Speedo’s birthday coming up.

After each PAX had turned over two cards, headed back to the flag. With a little extra time on the clock, we began to take a loop around the lot, then YHC called for a detour to the wall. 1 min Balls to the Wall. then YHC had the terrible idea of 20 Dirty Handshakes.

Now back to the flag for Mary. Called on Spandex who had the idea for 5 burpees (?!). We also did the Dolly, Pickle Pounder, and closed out with T-Bombs.

COT:

YHC spoke about goal setting for 2021. I am committing to a Monthly Murph and will be sharing details each month with this group. It won’t be easy, but the goal is progress. Encouraging everyone to discuss some of their goals and find an accountability partner in the group.
