the bridge at The Bridge is actually open

AO: The Bridge

When: 11/20/2020

QIC: Homer

PAX (15): Birdie, Zohan, Popper, Catfish, Meatball, Saint20, Readymix, Animal, Boomer, Weird Science, Flo, Dinghy, Maguire, Feathers, Homer

Preamble:

6 PAX for a pre-run (well, 5 pax led out by Animal for a 5K through Amberfield subdivision and 1 Zohan who had no idea where we were and went on a different loop)

5 of these PAX traversed the bridge 2 times before the main event would happen later.

Once all assembled at the shovel flag, 0530 came upon us. Standard Disclaimer. No FNGs. We’re off.

We knew that the bridge across 141 was open and knew that we’d be using it today.  little bit of mumblechatter from the PAX wondering how we actually GET to the bridge…

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey up Town Center Blvd towards 141. Hard left at Uncle Jacks Meat House and up the stairs to the above platform. Nice of Peachtree Corners to build a large enough area for most of us to circle up. A few PAX had to spread out across the bridge for a round of Side Straddle Hop, Copperhead Squats, Imperial Walkers, and Moroccan Night Club.

The Thang:

YHC decided to break the bridge in with some 11s. Unfortunately, he failed to take into consideration how little time would be required for these hard chargers. I should have planned another fun filled activity (and should have taken up the PAX on the recommendation for Monkey Humpers in a grand line across 141.

We split up (to help social distance) and started 1/2 of PAX on the Forum Side of the bridge and the other on the town center side. 11’s comprised of Merkins and Jump Squats.

After a quick 10 count, we mosey’d too the ‘square’ parking lot in front of Sprouts. We partnered up for some 4 corners AMRAP/Flutter Kicks.

1 Pax went to centerish of the parkling lot and did 25 flutter kicks while partner was at a corner of lot. Corner exercises comprised of AMRAP V-Ups, AMRAP Freddy Mercury, AMRAP LBCs, and AMRAP American Hammer. Rinse and Repeat for partners.

10 count recovery, and we were off again. Mosey toward Town Green and ultimately Veteran Memorial.

Time for some dps, step-ups and Derkins followed by a lap. Ended up back at memorial with WAY too much time left on the clock. Too much time for just MARY, but Q looked to his brothers for ideas.

Birdie pulled out Jack Webb.

Popper decided to do a merkin doomsday clock. We ended up around 250+ Merkins!

Catfish pulled out a mosey Lap

Seems like there was another exercise or two before time was called.

COT:

Prayers for those who are sick. Continued prayers for our country. Those traveling.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

The Bridge AO opened in July 2019, but we were able to use the actual bridge for the first time this morning as it opened this week. It literally opens up more areas for beatdowns in the gloom of Peachtree Corners

I admit, I was not the most excited about the bridge being built in Peachtree Corners. I questioned and still do on some level, but I also questioned the importance of working out regularly and surrounding myself with a group of men who push me to be better. Following closely what was coming to PTC Town Center, I knew this would be a fantastic place to work out and grow more leaders for our community. I am excited for this Bridge because I know that in the next 3-5 years we’re going to see huge F3 growth in Gwinnett county. PTC joined Lawrenceville and Sugar Hill as the Gwinnett AOs, and we’re going to push toward other parts of the county.
