Humidity, Cardio, & Crabs vs. Bears

AO: Firehouse

When: 09/01/2020

QIC: Krystal

PAX (9): Skynyrd, Picker, Script Kitty, Barney, Fudd, Dash, Schneider, FNG (Edward)

Preamble:

It was a classic late-summer humid gloom for the PAX who seemed to be in good spirits. Maybe it was the promise of some good coffee waiting for us at the end of the beatdown courtesy of dash. Good spirits quickly turned into mumble chatter at the mention of Indian runs, however…

Warm-O-Rama:

Quick round of 4 exercises:

  • SSH
  • Weed Pickers
  • Hillbillies
  • Good Morning

The Thang:

After the quick warmup, much to the PAX dismay, we left for a tour of the parking lot(s) for 2 rounds of Indian Runs, ending at the bottom of a hill. PAX got a little more suspicious of what was to come.

At the bottom of the hill, we partnered up for some Hill Repeats:

  • Partner 1 did LBCs while Partner 2 ran backwards up the hill and then down 3 trips, and then partners switched

We did this a few rounds and after the blood was pumping and sweat flowing, headed up to the football field for some classic Four Corners Escalator.

10 Merkins -> Run -> 10 Merkins + 20 Shoulder Taps -> Run -> 10 Merkins + 20 Shoulder Taps + 30 Freddie Mercury -> Run -> 10 Merkins + 20 Shouldter Taps + 30 Freddie Mercury + 40 Squats -> Final Run back to the start.

By now the PAX were good and worn out and I believe there was significant mumble chatter around any more running. PAX were in luck. QIC planted a soccer ball in the goalpost and as this was brought up, eyebrows were raised.

QIC split the group into two teams and explained what was next: Bears vs. Crabs soccer match. Team 1 would bear crawl while Team 2 crab walked with the goalie holding a plank. Ball was placed in center of circle on the field and a rugby-style scrum ensued to gain possession. Whenever was a goal was scored, the team that was scored upon performed 10 burpees as punishment with some heckling from the scoring team, of course and the teams switched from bears to crabs, and vica versa.

After a few rounds of highly contested Bears vs. Crabs, with no clear winner, except some definite screamers into the goal from Fudd & Dash, respectively, we headed to the Flag a quick round of Mary:

  • BBS
  • American Hammer

COT:

PAX were good sports while I tried out our soccer game and everone was properly drenched in sweat by the end. Prayers for Schneider’s mother and Dash with wisdom with a potential new business partnership.

As always, thanks to Dash for the back-of-the-truck Coffeeteria.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Welcome to FNG Edward who’s name is from here on out Suarez (in honor of Luis Saurez and his pension for some dirty play on the pitch). Already got a HC for Thursday so welcome Saurez!
