Preamble:

6 for the pre-run this morning – Cookie (Welcome Back), Miller Time, Lefty (Regular), Lumbergh, Devito, White Claw

Warm-O-Rama:

Quick mosey up to the top parking pulling the fake like we were going to circle up around the flag for WOR and went straight to the FOD.  In cadence 20 Windmills, and 20 American Hammers.  Short but effective WOR because we had work to do.

The Thang:

All YHC had planned today was 40 Minutes of Hell.

PAX partnered up and lined up on the foul line.  Partner A would stay on the foul line to do exercises while Partner B would back pedal to even with where 2nd base lines up do a Bobby Hurley then run back and Flapjack with Partner.

Exercises – 150 Burpees, 300 Squats, 150 Big Boys, 300 Shoulder Taps (single count), 150 Merkins, 300 Kobes (single count).  Extra credit – 300 more Shoulder Taps (single count), 300 more Kobes (single count)

Can’t take credit for the title as Devito coined it towards the end when he just couldn’t control the Joy anymore.

COT:

2020 Sasquatch this month – goal is to do the workout sometime within the month.  Trying to get a group together for Saturday 7/25.  Check #csaup channel for more info.

Beer Mile – 4pm on 7/25.  Won’t take more than 15 minutes of your time.  Can’t say that I’ve ever participated in a beer mile before but I’m sure it will be something you never forget.

Prayers for those affected by the virus and for our nation to become united

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Coming up on being in the Gloom for almost a year I was asked to reflect on my time short time in F3.  I personally love it and wished I’d had been involved from the beginning as I’ve lived a 1/4 mile from Rubicon since 2012.  The structure of the workouts alone have been life changing on a personal fitness level as you have other F3 brothers to hold you accountable, you don’t wanna be late so you don’t have to look around the park for the group, and it’s nice to not have to have a plan every workout so you can just get a good workout in without putting a lot of thought into it when not Q’ing.

It has also been life changing on a fellowship level as well.  Pushing yourself to the limits physically with other HIMs will only naturally help you get to know people better.  I have always been a “yes man” (M calls me a pushover) when it comes to doing, some would say stupid, things like this because for someone like myself it is a lot of fun.  Always challenging but a lot of fun.  I encourage all PAX that if you have the time and are available to join the #challenge and #csaup channels and to say yes more often.  You will not regret it.

I was already on a journey to continue to grow my faith but I feel like it wouldn’t necessarily be complete with out everything F3 has brought to the table in terms of trying to help out others in the community and well as other PAX.  Just the willingness to always be a helping hand that goes on in the slack discussion channels has been amazing to watch.

Aside from being cheesy and using the 3 F’s to describe the benefits and the impact it has had on me it has also helped me find more of a voice leadership wise in F3, work, being a husband, also a father.  As someone who has played sports most of their lives I was more of a lead by example type, not too vocal just did everything I was supposed to do to the best of my ability.  Naturally becoming a husband and father has lead to becoming a more vocal leader to try to do the best thing or make the decisions with a families best interest.  Putting a workout plan together an actually Q’ing for a bunch of HIMs has only enhanced and improved this aspect of my life.  There is nothing better than starting a workout with a few small side convos a joke here and there then to hear absolutely nothing except the pain being administered.

The best part of all of this is everyone gets to benefit from these workouts in many different ways while it helps to improve all aspects of life and it is free of charge!  I’m just glad I found out sooner rather than later and get to participate in all the “stupid” challenges, csaup workouts, and anything else going.  Look forward to continuing this growth as a man, husband, father, and friend in the Gloom.
