What You Need To Know

So, What is F3?

F3 is a national network including over 3,000 free, peer-led workouts for men. F3Alpha is one of almost 250 regions around the country. Our mission is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.

Said another way, it’s more than a workout group. It begins with Fitness (the first F in F3) but if you stick with it, you’ll discover the arguably more important 2nd F (Fellowship) and 3rd F (Faith, not in any specific religion but Faith in something bigger than yourself).

It starts at 5:30 am
(but sometimes 5:15, and
some guys arrive early at 5:00 to run)

Ah, the biggest barrier to showing up. We know it sounds crazy-and it sounds weird saying this, but you will come to genuinely love waking up early and getting a jump start on your day.

You’ll also love the time you get to yourself without emails, kids, spouses, and daily life creeping in. F3 is a break from all of that.

Still hesitant? Our Saturday beatdowns begin at 7am, and you can still be back home before everyone wakes up.

It's a 45 minute workout.
Most locations are bootcamp style workouts but we also sometimes just run for 45 minutes

This means we start on time and end on time, every time. We warm up together, we work hard together, and we end together without leaving anyone out.

F3 is peer-led, meaning guys volunteer to lead us through each workout. This means the leader does everything he asks you to do and we all do it together.

Every workout is different but the exercises are typically running, pushups, jumping jacks, burpees, sit-ups, etc. We sometimes use extra weights (e.g. cinder blocks or rocks) to add some fun to a workout.

It's always outside - usually at a park or school
So you will want to bring a pair of work gloves

We literally meet in parking lots of parks and schools around the area. Those places where your kids play baseball look completely different at 5:30 a.m.

A core principle of F3 is that the workouts are always held outdoors. It’s dark, quiet, and wonderful. We call it “The Gloom” and it’s your best chance to see the stars, planets, and on occasion, the ISS flying over.

No one will yell at you. It's not a competition. It's just you versus you

So if you’re imagining a drill sergeant yelling at you to do pushups, you’ve got it all wrong. In fact, it’s pretty much the opposite of that.

The men of F3 are here to encourage you, whatever your ability, age or fitness level.
We have the saying “Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you find him.”
So no yelling. Just the occasional fist bump.

And if you have some old injury or you just can’t do something, that’s understandable. Another saying is ‘Modify as necessary’. We want you with us.

It's completely free.
No strings.

F3 is a free men’s workout. There is nothing to buy. No up-sell, membership tiers, or cult to join. There are no points to earn. No affiliate program or multi-level pyramid of recruitment incentives. It’s just simply free.

There is nothing to rent. No one to pay. Just a group of guys that come together at 5:30 a.m. in parking lots around the area to work out. However, the shirt options are pretty great so you will probably want to buy one.

It has nothing to
do with religion

F3 stands for Fitness, Fellowship & Faith.

The faith thing can be a turn off to some men – so let’s unpack it a little. F3 is not a Christian organization. A lot of men in the group are Christian, but F3 itself has nothing to do with any religion.

We end every workout with a positive thought for the day. It could be a reflection or perspective from whomever is leading the workout. Some may call that a prayer. Whatever you call it, it’s food for the soul.

Our version of faith isn’t to get you to join a church – we just want you to believe in something bigger than yourself. Even if it’s the man next to you.

It's all ages.
There are men from
16 - 65+

F3 is open to all men. We don’t care if you’re in your 20s or 70s, you have a place here. The nature of our workouts is you versus you. No matter your age, F3 will have you push yourself, without hurting yourself. You may find yourself inspired by the 60 years old in our region. Your best chance to be like them is start in F3 now.

There are over 20 locations stretching from Roswell up to Dawsonville

F3Alpha have groups in Peachtree Corners, Roswell, Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Milton, Cumming and Dawsonville (and that’s just our little subregion). We are one of almost 250 regions around the country and they all are open to you when you are on the road.

We keep expanding and the closest location is probably less than a 10-minute drive from your house. That means you can sleep in until 5:10 a.m and still make it.

But I can't do a _______!
I haven't worked out in years.

Wait, wait. Let me make sure I understand. You can’t do push ups? You’re not a runner? You’re about 50 lbs. overweight? You’ve never worked out in your life and you don’t know how? You’re maybe a little embarrassed by your physical condition?

Perfect. Start tomorrow. There will be other men there in the same boat as you. No one will judge you on your shape — and they won’t try to “motivate you” into shape.

They will just be by your side during the workout, and probably offer you coffee afterwards.

You got this, so find a place near you at F3Alpha.com/locations

So, you got past our favorite excuses and decided to participate? Greatness. Here are some tips to get you going…
1. Check out the video and text on “About F3” to get the F3 basics. 2. Find workouts in the Alpharetta region by visiting the “F3Alpha Locations?” page. You don’t need much. 3. Unsure what some workout or other term means? Consult the lexicon or exercises. 4. Register/Signup up to get your F3Alpha.com username/password after you post to a workout, and start commenting on BackBlasts. 5. Sign up for twitter. Follow @f3nation. Follow your local region. Follow your fellow PAX. Read our two short posts (phase 1 on joining and phase 2 on how to make the most of the service). 6. Q a workout. After, post a backblast. (Contact your region Q of IT — the same way as in step 4 — to get posting rights and check out the editorial guidelines). 7. Go to a 2nd F event, be it a #CSAUP or a #HDHH (did you look at the lexicon?). Don’t see something that fits you or want to do something different? Find your local 2nd F Q. 8. If you’re moved to do so, check out and attend an F3F event. Don’t see something that fits you or want to do something different? Apply to make a difference. 9. If you’re moved to do so, check out a 3rd F workout in your region under the “Schedules” and the “3rd F” tab. Don’t see something that fits you or want to do something different? Hit the forums or find your local 3rd F Q. 10. Review the FAQ and/or ask us any questions we didn’t cover.
