Preamble:

Ever have an idea strike you and it won't leave until you follow through? I was hanging at the playground recently (with my kid you freak) and found the little conveyor belt and wanted to incorporate it at Rubicon I signed up for Q and then set my calendar reminder which arrived a lot faster than I would have thought. That's cool, I am ready to go.
  • Major praise to Tank for calling out Pax and bolstering our numbers and all the support I get for a Q.
  • A drizzle as I left the house had me worried about my plan but I was going to stick with it. Tlaloc smiled down and gave us a break in the rain the entire beatdown.
  • Rumor is one windjammer pax drove out, felt the rain was still too much and burned rubber out of the lot. Will we ever know for sure if that was Deep Dish?
  • And what's this random runner....Well I gotta say my claim to fame is having even Crack pop in to witness a lumbergh Q.

Warm-O-Rama:

The disclaimer included a portion where pax could say skip at any time and be excused from what I was about to do. We mosey off for with some parking lot laps of high knees and butt kickers and compliments of my lumberghowski hair. Gather around our flag free from construction for the usuals.

The Thang:

  • We mosey off to the playground but not the one people thought we would see. We will hit all the equipment at the purple playground this morning.
  • First up a little morning call with pull ups and mercans. These bars sit a little low making proper pull ups difficult but we worked through.
  • Next, a little follow-the-lumbergh, while pax did lunges, we one at a time (or maybe 2-3) climbed the ladder, over the bridge and down the slide. Plenty of WHEEEE's at this part.
  • Then we line up with shoulder taps and one at a time lay down and pull ourselves through the conveyor belt rollers. To my delight every single pax went for these and had little ridicule for my methods.
  • On to the main thang
    • Next up we partnered up for a dora.
    • One pax would head up the hill and back while the other exercised. This involved:
      • 100 Swerkins (Something I initially learned from Nacho but enjoy seeing on occasion, even with these high numbers)
      • 200 no cheat jump squats (Sit on the swing and lift legs) but that was abandoned for some normal jump squats
      • 300 Crunchy Frogs
  • We wrapped up and needed to head back toward the flag with one rule. If you pass a 'streetlight' you will do 5 burpees if the light is off; 10 Diamonds if it is on. My terminology was immediately questioned by pax at every single light that we may or may not have stopped at including field lights, and parking lot lights. Mixed in some lunge walks and bear crawls until we were back at the flag.
  • A brief round of Mary and we were done.

COT:

Such a great group out this morning with a strong mix of regulars, recurring characters and even the OG CRACK! 10 year anny coming up and Crack shared stories of the originals and a little about those early days over coffee by Devito and Sweep3r. This was truly one of my favorite and much needed mornings that I have had in a while amidst other stressors.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Always a pleasure to slide and swing and play and lead.
