Preamble:

After reminding Ha-ha to not fartsack my beat down, a crisp morning greeted 8 men (plus another 5 who had insomnia and came for the earlier Dawn Patrol beat down). Delorean continued his beast mode by staying for a double. Let's just say we had a mature and wise group this morning.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey this way and that. Active stretching exercise was introduced on the way up toward the concession stand where we circled up for:
  • Weed pickers
  • Copperhead squats
  • Phelps
  • something else
  • Learning to fly (ask Stifler) - and you guys really did look ridiculous
 

The Thang:

More active stretching via long, slow, deep squats down the other side of the concession stand. Circle up in a plank position. QIC called down as he went down as if doing a merkin but held it there while the next guy called down and we repeated around the circle. Q then called Up to complete the merkin and we continued around the circle Repeat for a total of 5 measly merkins. The first audible of the day happened when QIC saw how wet the hill was where the next pain was to happen. Instead, we moseyed down to a point on the parking lot and pax were instructed to do 8 peter parkers then bear crawl to another spot on the parking lot and do 8 diamond merkins. Rinse and repeat for a total of 4 rounds. Mosey to the coupon pile by the used-to-be-grass-but-soon-to-be-turf (UTBGBSTBT) field where pax selected a coupon. We circled up around a tree and got on our knees. Hold the coupon out about 45 degrees from our body until Q said stop. Next hold the coupon out straight in front of us (90 degrees-ish) until Q said stop. Then we held the coupon up at an exact 135 degrees until Q said stop. Cusack around the parking lot. Now that the shoulders were blasted we did an inflationary Colt 45. Ten bottom half curls, ten top half curls and ten full curls. Cusack again. Last round was ten skull crushers, ten chest presses and ten squats followed by another cusack. Mosey to the top of the hill where pax were instructed to simply run down the hill. Oh, and don't forget to stop at the manhole cover to do ten big boy sit ups. Oh and don't forget to do the sit ups facing up hil. Oh and don't forget to do them with your arms behind your head. R&R at the bottom, then again on the way back up and again at the top. Repeat the hill work, this time with ten derkins. We used the guardrail at the bottom and the hand rail at the top. Last audible was after QIC saw the soccer pitch was occupied by a couple of soccer teams. We moseyed to the bridge where pax were instructed to do 5 burpees each with 5 merkins on one side then run to the other side and do 4 burpees with 4 merkins each then 3/3, 2/2, 1/1. Some pax didn't follow directions and did extra merkins which were quickly deposited into the merkin bank to be withdrawn at their discretion. A little more active stretching and trying to not get hit by cars led us to a few minutes of mary.

I enjoyed getting back to this AO after some time away. It's normally a regular stop for me but due to some schedule changes has been less frequent. The fellowship, brotherhood and support is so awesome. -- Speedo out
