Hail Hydra

AO: The Bridge

When: 2024-10-04

QIC: Popper

PAX (8): Boardwalk, Boomer, Fuzzy Dice, Humperdinck, Scrooge, Zima, Bobbitt (FNG)

Preamble:

YHC posted to Titan AO at F3 Nashville in mid-September and participated in the seed of a beatdown plan to plant at the Bridge. Given that F3 Goose's Nashville weinke was the inspiration, the beatdown could have easily been titled Tennessee Valley Authority. Humperdinck cleverly advised "Hail Hydra" based on the shape of the Mosey pattern which is explained shortly.

Warm-O-Rama:

8 PAX including 1 FNG (Bobbitt) assembled in the pre-dawn gloom. YHC fumbled the 5 core principles of F3, gave the disclaimer, and led an IC warmup of SSH, WP, WM, IW, MP, LBAC fwd/bwd.

The Thang:

YHC turned on a Spotify playlist of progressive rock hits (Genesis, Yes, Rush, Peter Gabriel). The PAX moseyed to three locations: The EV chargers, the end of the ravine path to nowhere, and the back corner of the Theater lot. At each spot, Q instructed the PAX to remember this location, and we did 3 burpees at each to burn it into memory. We returned to the intersection where the paths to these three spots meet, in the center of the ravine. This would be the "body" of a three-headed hydra. The PAX were instructed to perform 100 reps apiece of Merkins, Squats, and LBCs, but only in 25-rep sets. In between sets, PAX would pick one of the three locations ("heads" of the hydra) to mosey to and do 3 burpees there, before returning to the body. There were a total of 12 25-rep sets, and PAX were instructed to alternate which path they picked each mosey. The PAX did the work, some finished, and YHC called time at 6:13 to get us back to the starting point.

COT:

We welcomed FNG Bobbitt, named according to his first job castrating steers in Iowa. (If you think Bobbitt had it rough, the steer had it worse.) Prayers for three PAX who span the gamut of active job seeking, important upcoming employment decisions at work, and an opportunistic interview landing in the lap. Prayers for managing the chaos well. Praises for Popper's MIL's improving health/wellness.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Posting DR is a cool aspect of F3. Especially when it inspires ideas to bring back to home AO's. Keep accelerating.
