Preamble:

As per usual, YHC arrived early at the AO to set up cones, lighting, tunes, and boards of pain. The flag was planted at the pavilion on Turf Field 2 commenced. This would be another practice for the hopefully future Norseman vs Rubicon Ultimate Frisbee Challenge. Yet for this round we would not just be playing Ultimate Frisbee, but be interrupted on the below interval for a quick set of exercises, then a sprint back to the field to resume play.   12 total PAX were ready to go at 0530…including 1 visiting Rubicon PAX.  Time was called with a quick intro + disclaimer, then we moseyed over to Turf Field 2.

Warm-O-Rama:

The PAX were led in cadence through:
  • SSHs - 20
  • Weed Pickers - 10
  • Hillbillies - 10
  • Willie Mays Hayes – OYO
  • Arm Circles - OYO

The Thang:

As Ultimate Frisbee was on the menu for the 2nd time for potential prep for a possible upcoming match against the Rubicon AO. The format would remain the same from the previous practice…20 yard end zones and the Team that scores retains possession, but simply switches the direction of play to keep the pace fast. We were fortunate enough to have even numbers and quickly split up into teams…Blue Team and Red Team. Blue Team would be the home team and took possession first. A timer and tunes were started then play commenced. The twist for this BD was that every 6.5 minutes a whistle timer would sound. On the whistle, the disc would be dropped where it was and all PAX would run to their respective sidelines, perform the exercise for that round, wait for the 6 in V-UP hold position, then return to the field "as a team" to resume play. Timing was set up to accommodate 4 rounds of exercises among the game per the below chart: V-UP HOLD FOR the 6 AFTER EACH ROUND before returning to the field
    EXERCISE REPS
ROUND 1   MERKINS 40
ROUND 2   BIG BOY SIT-UPS 21
ROUND 3   MTN CLIMBERS (4-COUNT) 15
ROUND 4   BODY BUILDERS 9
As play progressed, the RED team took an early lead and never relinquished it. At roughly 0612, YHC called time, clean up commenced and the PAX returned to the flag for a few minutes of Mary.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

As always, an honor to lead and I appreciate the shared encouragement / positive attitudes during a competitive effort. It was great to have TMI back out with the group. Wishing brotherhood across our region and reminders that we are all in this together. We send out challenges on occasion to keep things fun/fresh. It is always done from a perspective of respect, as at the end of the day we are all here for each other to ride the Flux together, keep each other Accountable, and Accelerate each other forward toward Advantage.  SYITG !!!
