Hanukkah in the gloom

AO: Boneyard

When: 12/16/2022

QIC: Zohan

PAX (8): Angus, BallBoy, DREAMER, Feathers, Mater, Meatball, NRA, Zohan

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey to the pavilion near the playground and circle up for mountain climbers, weed pickers, windmills, squats and hillbillies. We finished with OYO arm circles while YHC explained the rules of the beatdown.

The Thang:

Eight Crazy Nights – 8 exercises, 8 reps each, 8 rounds.

Burpees, Bonnie Blairs (in cadence), Merkins (ic), LBCs (ic), Monkey Humpers (ic), Peter Parker (ic), Dips (ic) and Box Jumps.

Each round one PAX spins the dreidel and we modify the round based on the letter that comes on top. ‘Peh’ – no change. ‘Heh’ – half (4 reps each exercise). ‘Gimel’ – double (16 reps each). ‘Nun’ – skip one (skip the exercise that matches the round’s number).

After every round we also had a Hannukah present.

YHC was sure we only did 7 rounds, but when I’m counting the presents we had, we may have done 8 rounds!

As I recall, the letters we got were Heh (half), Peh (regular), Heh, Peh, Nun (skip Monkey humpers), Heh, Peh and Gimel (double). We may have had another Peh in between.

The presents included: A mosey down the road to the crosswalk and back; a mosey to the other pavilion and back; Bear Crawl from one sidewalk to the other and back; moseyed to a nearby set of stairs. Bunny hops up and bear crawl down; Crab Walk from one sidewalk to the other; 10 OYO Crab Cakes (alpha count); Bernie Sanders to the other pavilion and mosey back; 10 count rest.

We moseyed back to the flag with no time for Mary.

COT:

Some announcements: Tonight a party at Feather’s house. Widowmaker at the Hooch for Scrooge’s annual Christmas beatdown, followed by eggnog. The Friday before Ney Years Eve the Boneyard will go to Windjammer as they won the Santa Ruck competition.

Prayers and Praises: Angus shared about struggles with his mom. Maters parents had covid but are better now. Zohan’s sister in law is coming from Israel. (apologies of I’m omitting anything).

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Shared as Truth Nugget, from Viktor Frankl book Men search for meaning:

Imagine those calendars where every day we take a page out. A pessimist would focus on the fact that there are less and less pages left as the days go by. The smart men would keep the pages taken down, write on each a few words about the successes of the day and the lessons learned and see how that pile grows.
