Moving Around the Boneyard
AO: Boneyard
When: 07/29/2022
QIC: Stroller
PAX (6): FannyPack, Feathers, Scar, Stroller, Trebek, Zohan
Preamble:
An early morning appt for my M took me away from my recent Friday hangout at Bushwood CC. Boneyard was in need of a Q, so why not grab it?
Q forgot to put out the call for headlamps, and wanted to avoid a repeat of his last Q where he put an old man on the IR. Fortunately most PAX had a spare in their car so we were well lit.
Q gave a 2 word disclaimer and initiated the BD…
Warm-O-Rama:
Q came in feeling very warm after the pre-run. Nonetheless, all PAX were provided a warm-up of:
- Weedpicker
- Imperial Walker
- Copperhead Squat
- Mercan
- Motivator (up to 8)
Some discussion ensued about proper motivator form, whether to count up or down, etc. Then we started down the park loop
The Thang:
Follow the park loop, with stops roughly every 1/4 mile for 20 mercans. At the pull-up bars, stop for 2 rounds of Morning Call (all PAX do LBC while each PAX separately does 5 pull-ups). Continue on with additional mercan stops
At the back end of the park, cut up toward the playground. Q opted for swercans at the playground instead of mercans. Due to lack of swings for 6 PAX, the remaining PAX did squats while waiting for a swing to open up.
That put us at 100 mercans and approximately a mile.
Head to the pavillion by the concession stand. 20-15-10-5 dips and step-ups.
To the soccer field. With 6 PAX, why not go for a Triple Check? 1 PAX in a static hold, 1 PAX runs to mid-field and back, 1 PAX exercises. Cumulative totals of 100 burpees, 200 monkey humpers, 300 American Hammers were quickly cut in half. PAX could choose their static position.
With a bit too much time on the clock, headed to the concession/bathroom corridor and were lining up for our exercise when a toilet flushed in the ladies restroom. We went around the corner to avoid scaring the wits out of some poor woman. This led to FannyPack stomping a cockroach, but apparently failing to kill it. Nothing like working out outdoors!
To honor our Nantan, we did increasing sets of donkey kicks, holding the last rep until Q called it. 5-10-15. Then back to the flag.
Made it almost all the way around for Mary…Dolly, J-Lo, Freddy Mercury, Dying Cockroach (RIP), and 100s.
Analysis of sweat patterns immediately followed. It was a steamy one today.
