Singing in the Rain

Preamble:

Three HIM braved the rain to participate in YHC’s VQ reliving my high school music scene and hobbies. We enjoyed some ska punk and video game references as the rain poured down on the Field of Dreams.

Warm-O-Rama:

We started with the usual welcome and disclaimer before moseying to the pool parking lot for a quick warm-up as the rain started:

After the warm-up, we mosey’d to the rock pile to grab a coupon for The Thang and went to the Field of Dreams.

The Thang:

YHC’s high school days were filled with punk rock and video games, so in searching the exicon for ideas, I found the perfect reference for the musical dora: The Leeroy Jenkins. Whenever any PAX yells out Leeroy Jenkins, we all stop, sprint to the back fence, do 5 burpees, and sprint back to resume the current exercise. So, after a short explainer on The Leeroy Jenkins, we launched into the musical dora as the rain fell off and on:

As the dora went on the rain fell heavier and heavier until we finished in the heaviest rain of the beatdown. We mosey’d back to the shovel flag to finish the BD with 10 quick burpees (for our fallen shovel flag) and a quick Mary.

COT:

We held a quick CoT to share prayers for those traveling and fighting off illness. YHC broke out the Gatorades which were planned for a drier, hotter workout, but were refreshing nonetheless. All HIM quickly dispersed to escape the rain and join the Coffeeteria at DD.

Prayers were shared for those currently traveling, planning on traveling, and recovering from traveling.
