The Crossett Fit Games
AO: Boneyard
When: 07/11/2022
QIC: Stroller
PAX (8): Dinghy, DREAMER, Feathers, Mater, RaspberryPi, Stroller, vertigo, Brownie
Preamble:
It was 4 years ago yesterday that I first answered Spandex’s call and posted at the Gladiator. Life was a lot different then- I had 2 fewer kids, the Gladiator started at 0530, no one cared about Elon Musk’s musings, etc.
So despite not having Q’d a beatdown in months, I was signed up long ago to take the helm at the Boneyard today. Inspiration came from Lehigh Valley and their fallen brother Treehugger.
Warm-O-Rama:
Start with 4 burpees
Mosey into the woods and stop at the path split for:
- 15x SSH (quick cadence)
- 10x Weedpickers
- 20x MNC
The Thang:
Mosey to the pull-up station, where YHC had staged a lamp, board of pain, and 40ish # sandbag.
YHC shared a word about Treehugger and then quickly explained the BD (see the very bottom of this post for the full post from Lehigh Valley). 5 rounds:
- 10 pull-ups (modify with sandbag rows or burpees)
- 20 v-ups
- 30 mercans
- 40 yd Burpee Broadjumps (without any yard markers, PAX were instructed to complete 15)
- 50 yd Heart-Charger (Sprint) (PAX were instructed to sprint ~15 seconds)
- 1/2 mile run (to the flag and back)
Unfortunately brother @dinghy took a tumble on his first run to the flag and took off with Feathers for some quick treatment.
This one definitely got the heart rate up! Brownie, Raspberry Pi, and Vertigo completed the WOD and the extra run from the pull-up station to the flag again. The rest of us completed most of the 5th set and ran to the flag, where we had time for 25 squats and a round of American Hammers.
COT:
- Dinghy’s ankle
- F3/FiA/2.0 convergence 8/6 at Wills Park, 7am
Naked-Man Moleskin:
When I first came to F3 I was just getting ready to start a marathon build that would ultimately fail. I was a broken man in several ways when that happened, but that’s when I really committed to this group and they picked me back up. I haven’t looked back. These 4 years have seen a lot of personal challenges, but I can honestly say that every time I’ve posted it has only improved my day. To all the brothers who have been there and supported me…what’s next? Let’s get after it! Aye!!!
Now read on for the message from Lehigh Valley:
