Can we just go get donuts now?
AO: Rubicon
When: 07/05/2022
QIC: lumbergh
PAX (5): Cookie, FannyPack, Isner, MillerTime
Preamble:
I won’t lie.
The previous day: I ran a 10K that I wasn’t prepared for.
I ate very poorly.
I drank more beer and soda than I did water and was a bit dehydrated.
I was awakened at 11:00 when Alpharetta finally shot off their fireworks with probably nobody actually watching.
I even had the text written in my head for Fanny Pack to please just take the Q.
But I wasn’t going to let that happen. I put my name down and knew I needed this today.
The few Academy folks that remained in town were planning to converge too. I suggested a way to get their BD started early but nobody took me up on it so I kept it to a post holiday Rubicon beatdown.
Warm-O-Rama:
A mosey to the upper lot for some high knees, karaoke, and moseying, dodging the cars that were left behind from the previous nights fireworks. Who knows where those people ended up….
SSH, WP, Hillbillies and some arm circles.
It was obvious all of us were dragging a little bit. We very seriously considered calling it and hitting the coffee shop early. I wouldn’t let it go to vote. I couldn’t be the Q responsible for that happening.
The Thang:
GrabĀ a pool rock and circle up for some stuff:
5 rounds/20 reps each plus a lap after each round.
1st: Curls, Hammers, Squats, LBCs
2nd: Presses, Lunges, Rows, Freddy mercury (Had to catch up on my ab challenge for July)
This small group brought wonderful chatter discussing their different 10k/5k races from yesterday, hearing the tales of the nearly rained out fireworks when Miller Time left the park in the pouring rain just 7 hours earlier, A run down of all the ribs, hot dogs, burgers, zucchini, and watermelon that was grilled. It was what carried me through.
Time is nearing and so we have a quick Colt 45 before heading back to the flag.
A mucho chesto (while ignoring the question if there would be burpees today) and a little more ab work to hit time.
COT:
Prayers for Mayhem and Turbine as they set off on their adventure soon
Prayers for me as I leave next week for Chinle
Prayers for Highland Park and a country in need of something.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
Always a pleasure to lead and thankful that I dragged myself out to spend time with yall this morning. It wasn’t my best BD but at least we did 45 full minutes and didn’t respond to the temptation of skipping.
