Everyone has a plan ’til they get punched in the mouth
AO: The Hooch
When: 12/20/2021
QIC: Dinghy
PAX (14): Animal, BallBoy, Birdie, Boomer, Hammer, Jonathan Corley A.K.A Piggy, Maguire, Meatball, Ready-Mix (F3), Saint2O, Splinter, Sugar, Guinness (DR PAX from Charlotte, RESPECT!)
Preamble:
One of the many great things about F3 is the opportunity to learn every time you go to a beatdown, be it as a participant or as a QIC. YHC learned two valuable lessons today when it comes to running a BD: 1) Have redundancies built into your plan when you start the day – just like on a nuclear sub or a Saturn V rocket, stuff happens and if you don’t have to have a backup…BOOM; 2) Simplicity is a virtue, especially with a group of 13 PAX at 5:30 who have likely not had any coffee. So with that in mind as we started the BD this morning, it was with consernation that YHC was greeted with some missing coupons (after all extras had been distributed) and the fact that the Cecille B. Demille-like BD production was a tad bit complicated. So as always, we adapted and overcame, kind of like the square filter for the round air cleaning intake hole on Apollo 13….

Mosey on a quarter mile loop, with high knees and butt-kickers
10 Weed Pickers

Take coupons over to the boards of pain…..

Naked-Man Moleskin:
As stated in the preamble, it’s always a learning experience to Q. Fortunately, the Good Lord uses these opportunities as a teachable moment to make us better over time. YHC cannot emphasize how performing as a QIC is a great what to build your leadership muscles, and like any muscle, consistent practice creates muscle memory. HINT HINT – Lots of open spots on the Q sheets at multiple AO’s = lots of opportunities to build that leadership muscle. YHC reiterates – it’s a privilege to be allowed the opportunity to lead such HIMs!
