Son of a Bench

Preamble:

I saw on Slack the news about an F3 brother from F3 Franklin TN who died – Spicoli – and the ask to incorporate 100 Calf Raises in his name. And so I did

Warm-O-Rama:

Before the disclaimer YHC announced that on top of whatever else we’ll be doing, if we pass a bench then we’ll do 10 Derkins on it or 10 Merkins near it.

Disclaimer followed and we moseyed. A few steps in Stroller called out that we just run past a bench. Hard to see some in the dark. We went back a few steps and did the Derkins/Merkins. Continued our run and passed yet another bench. And another.

Circled up for some SSH, Weed Pickers, Windmills and Copper Head Squats.

Continued our mosey through 4 more benches before we arrived at the designated pavilion.

The Thang:

YHC placed 2 cinders and a small Board of Pain.

The Board read:

• 50 Burpees
• 50 Plank Jacks
• 75 American Hammers
• 75 Sumo Squats
• 75 Curls
• 75 Dips
• 100 Spicolis (Culf Calf Raises)

The concept – choose an exercise, doesn’t have to be in order, do 25 reps of that exercise and run a loop around the pond.

Don’t forget to the the Derkins/Merkins on the 3 benches in the pavilion and on 2 more benches along the way. Note: only 1 set of Derkins/Merkins per bench. No repeats.

Speedo correctly reprimanded YHC for not bringing tunes and threatened to bring his own next time. YHC promised to take that threat seriously.

At about 6:05 YHC audibled – no more running, just exercises. At 6:10 called recover to run back to the flag. We passed 3 more benches. At one of them Stroller called out loud “Son of a Bench” and just like that my beatdown, which was supposed to be called Tour-De-Bench, got its name.

At the conceptual flag, which was left at the garage of an unnamed Site Q, we did 20 IC LBCs and then Mater led us through Dying Cockroach.
