Corny Christmas Tree Beatdown

Preamble:

An unsuspecting group of PAX didn’t know they would be part of YHC’s experiment on this unseasonably warm December morning. Now, how do I do this without giving it away…? All I know is if I told these guy beforehand we would be making art, they’d probably start running random patterns through the parking lot… so I kept it on the DL

Warm-O-Rama:

As Animal came in on 2 wheels we stayed in place for some warmup SSH, Windmills, Toy Soldiers and Weedpickers

The Thang:

We moseyed past Starbucks to the other end of the scenic parking lot and started with some ‘Fast Four Corners’. That is a Four Corners drill with no exercise at the corners in case you didn’t know.

THANG 1 – THE TREE STAND
First Round:
Run Short Side, Slide Long Side, Backpedal Short Side, Slide Long Side. Repeat 3x
Second Round:
Broad Jump, Slide, Backward Broad Jump, Slide. Repeat 2x
Third Round:
Bear Crawl, Slide, Crawl Bear Slide. Repeat 2x

THANG 2 – THE CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS TREE
Starting in the middle’, Run to next parking lane
Bernie down the lane 30 paces, 30 Mercans, Run back, 30 SSH
Bernie the opposite direction down the lane 30 paces, 30 squats, Run back
Move on to the next lane and repeat, reducing all numbers by 5 each time
Those fellas on the 100 Mercan/day December challege were now good for the day!

THANG 3 – THE STAR ON TOP
A tired Q had trouble with math so after a pointless count-off, the PAX divided into 5 groups of 3 and split into 5 points around a circle. 2 PAX performed an exercise while the 3rd Bear Crawled to the center of the circle and then to the next point on the circle/star. There they would join the exercise in progress while the next man up commenced the Bear Crawl fun.

One full round completed, YHC called for another round while substituting Lunges for the Bear Crawls

A short mozy back to the flag and just enough time for some Dying Cockroaches and Gas Pumpers before time was called. The PAX seems incredulous as to why I asked them to track the beatdown on their watches. “1.2 Miles!?” they said with disdain. Only then it dawned on them that it was not the distance, but the route that interested the Q. Did we write some inspirational text? No, it must be a drawing… a star… a tree, no not something as corny as a Christmas Tree! Yes, in fact, that corny…
