Giving THANKS with a classic Reuben BD

Preamble:

A year ago Reuben introduced me and a few other PAX to a BD that was meant to celebrate Thanksgiving and help us give thanks the F3/Reuben way, by pushing us to get a bit better/stronger, so with that BD still in my mind and due to the fact I grab the Q to let all the PAX at Starting Line experience the “joy” of a Reuben BD, it was time to get this party started
As usual Sir Mixalot was there in the early gloom to help me set up and get a bit of pre-ruck in, the plan was a pre-run but with the gates closed and cinder blocks needing to be put in place we modified to a Pre-ruck with farmers carry of the cinder blocks to put them in place to prep for the BD, once that was done we still had time for a quick pre-ruck to get us warmed up for the event to come.
As the PAX started rolling in all the HCs showed up helping us get to 6 PAX there, and have to say it was great to have Janeway there, with an added bonus of his 2.0 Komrad  there too, so with the numbers set, it was time to start the mosey.

With the warm up complete it was on to the main event.

The Thang:

Sadly only Suarez and I have been able to experience a true Reuben BD, but his BDs are ones I try to model and work towards so with that in mind it was time to pull this Thanksgiving BD out of the archives and share it with the PAX.

Here is the Thang
An acronym workout out with T.H.A.N.K.S.

T – 10 Shoulder Taps (Alpha count)
H- 20 Hand released Merkins
A – 30 Ab exercise (first round was Big Boy Situps, next 3 rounds were LBCs)
N – 30 Nolan Ryans(15 on each side)
K – 20 Kettle bells w/cinder blocks
S – 10 Squat Thrusters w/cinder blocks
After we completed the acronym we took a lap
We completed 4 rounds of giving T.H.A.N.K.S.
Which left us about 5 minutes of Mary

Mary
Ace called for WW2 Situps
SirMixalot gave us the superman banana combo, that was enjoyable
Suarez did his 5 merkins on his count with a hold at mid point and just above the ground.
Komrad added in SSH
SK did copperhead squats

And with that time was up

The Acceleration Point for the morning was shared by SirMixalot and it was discussing how if we expect things to change we have to stop doing the same thing, Ace mentioned how SEARS used to be the default store to go to but due to the fact it was unwilling to change it is almost completely closed down, with only 27 stores left and more slotted to close soon.
The Acceleration point made me think of the definition of insanity – doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.  Thanks for the great Acceleration point SirMixalot

for Skynard that he would be able to find the root cause of the nerve pain and healing to allow him to feel better
for Beeline continued healing/recover from ACL surgery
for Janeway’s wife’s mom as she deals with COVID
Forgot to mention it but will be praying for all the PAX that will be traveling

Naked-Man Moleskin:

SirMixalot supplied the high octane coffee and we had some great discussion about politics and other things and Ace discussed with Komrad about his plans after high school and what he plans to do
I have to pause here and say Komrad is a very mature and respectful young man, Janeway and his M have done a great job raising him to the man Komrad is today.  I hope both Janeway and Komrad keep coming back to F3 and/or we stay in contact in other ways so we can follow what this young man will accomplish.

After that we headed out to start the day, there was discussion about the Thanksgiving plans, we seemed to all be staying close to home and plans for tomorrow’s Turkey Trot BD by Lightweight.

So another great morning in the gloom being able to share time with some amazing men that help push each other to be who God is calling us to be,  I am thankful for all the men that were at Starting Line and for so many others that could not make it.
