Burpees, Rucking, and Q1.1 – DRP
AO: The Storm
When: 09/25/2021
QIC: Inseam
PAX (5): Ace Ventura, Crab Cake, Inseam, Snowman, Swiper
Preamble:
The next chapter at The Storm, thanks to a brilliant idea from Snowman, is the introduction of Q Source into our beatdowns. Each week the Q will lead a Qpoint during the BD. The plan is to cover one a week, in order, which will take 1 year. Today we started with 1.1 – Daily Red Pill.
3 Pax showed up for some prerun action 30 minutes before the BD.
Warm-O-Rama:
Stand at the flag and wait on Swiper, who was 6 minutes late. YHC declared we would do 10 burpees later in the BD for every minute Swiper was late.
Short ruck to get blood flowing. Then head to the top of the parking deck. Ruck Run the inclines. Ruck the flats.
The Thang:
At the top YHC introduced the first part of the Q Source (see summary of Q1.1 below). Pax then shared, one at a time, what their version of Sad Clown looked like. We then would do 10 burpees to symbolize taking the DRP and keeping their sad clown beat down.
It was discovered that YHC and Crab Cake where ready for the next Olympics, delivering a 60 perfectly synchronized burpees.
We then finsed our day with more discussion as we rucked it out for the final 30-40 minutes.
COT:
Glad to have Snowman back! Pray for Pax and their families going some life tests and/or injuries.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
So much good conversation this morning. What we are starting is something special, and it delivered this morning.
Q.1.1 – DRP – Summary of Key Discussion Points
A man needs help to Get Right. Sad Clown syndrome is gradual. We are swept downstream, gradually, focused on mere survival. Sad clowns make periodic attempts to invigorate himself. He goes to the gym for a week, tries to make the yearly golf trip with his college buddies, tries to make an appearance at the family dinner table, etc. They always lead him back by the end of every year to the exact same place he started, only now, one year closer to death.
A man must turn pro to Get Right.
To get right you must commit to actual movement. A fully committed HIM is a Pro. No man is too far gone to Get Right.
Additional key points are highlighted below. Thanks for the chance to lead!
