PAX (6): Suarez Ace Ventura Buckeye Dunshire Lightweight Lifelock
Preamble:
PAX assembled at the normal meet up spot and remarked how it was not yet raining, but that heavy rain was on its way within minutes.
Warm-O-Rama:
PAX moseyed to the normal warm up spot. Exercises were conducted:
Side Straddle Hops
Weedpickers
Sun Gods
Reverse Sun Gods
PAX then moseyed to the Pavilion to put in some hard work.
The Thang:
A workout circuit was provided. PAX would exercise for 45 seconds, rest for 15, and then go to the next exercise on the list.
In order:
- Burpees
- Leg Lifts (first 2 rounds)/JLos (last 3 rounds)
- Merkins (first 2 rounds)/Durkins (last 3 rounds)
- Tricep Dips
- Squats (first 2 rounds)/Squat Holds (last 3 rounds)
One PAX experienced flatulence during The Thang. It was noted that it was obvious to someone that PAX ate Mexican food the night before as “I can smell a hint of cilantro”.
During The Thang, Suarez provided a wonderful mix of music, especially some music in Spanish.
After all five rounds of punishment were delivered, PAX did a long Mosey around the area, which culminated into a round of Mary. PAX did Mountain Climbers, Leg Lifts, and American Hammers.
COT:
PAX gathered and did the normal Name-o-Rama.
6th man went to Suarez. Suarez discussed how he immigrated to the United States from Colombia and has spent over half his life in the US now. He talked about his family, and how much he enjoys working. He stated the most complicated thing he’d ever made was an entire closet, making all the other amateur woodworkers feel inadequate and silly.
MOC was provided by Ace Ventura.
“Society tries to tell me we are supposed to be ‘tough’ and not show emotions or open up. We need to get past this as it is holding us back. I challenge you to open up to someone (not your M, as you should already be doing that), whether it be a friend or one of you 2.0s.”. Further discussion talked about how men need to not bottle up their feelings, or they will bubble and surface in ways that are less positive or productive. This is a direct tie to 2nd F of this organization.
Prayers were offered to Lightweight’s niece, who is 6 years old and having gallbladder surgery.
Prayers were also added for victims and loved ones of the victims of recent violence happening in GA and CO.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
PAX chose to take a selfie angled up so they could get Old Glory in the picture (site Q could not make it due to obligation with his M).
PAX enjoyed coffee after beatdown. Primary discussion topic was the stresses of life, particularly work and things happening in their fields of work. Also, Buckeye’s parents are visiting from Utah over the weekend, and PAX offered suggestions of places to visit during their stay.
It should be noted that the massive rain the Weather Channel promised us (70% chance) started during the post Beatdown coffee *sad trombone sound*. This lead to no post Beatdown rucking session.
