Preamble:
Usually YHC is prepared a night before a workout with clothes, water, towels and all. This morning clearly I wasn’t. Frantic organizing, can’t find my wallet, went back for the ruck sack, made too much noise overall and hit the road a few min too late than desired. I rolled to the Windjammer exactly at 5:30 just to find… an empty parking lot? No pre-runners, no pre-ruckers. Oh well. YHC chose to pre-run and got somewhat lost in the neighborhood across the street. Made it in time for the BD, though. It was good to see cars already parked and some rolling in at the last moment.
Warm-O-Rama:
Started a mosey around the parking lot. Circled back as one PAX moved his car around. Found a spot with a light for the weinke to be used later. Mountain Climbers, Weed Pickers, copper head squats and hill billies for the warm up.
The Thang:
Stayed in same place and called for 12 single count merkins, then a mosey around the parking lot.
Came back to the same spot for 12 IC LBCs and 11 single count merkins. Another mosey.
12 IC Air Presses, 11 IC LBCs, 10 merkins. Mosey. PAX realized the system.
Every round introduce a new exercise done 12 times IC or single and reduce the count of the subsequent exercises. Last round should be 12, 11, 10, …2, 1.
We never got to the last round. YHC kept a fast pace but we only made it through 10 rounds. The last round we did included 12 Burpees, 11 IC Monkey Humpers, 10 IC Bonnie Blairs, 9 IC Imperial Walkers, 8 Big Boy Sit Ups, 7 IC Mountain Climbers, 6 IC Squats, 5 IC Air Presses, 4 IC LBCs, 3 IC Merkins (we switched to IC Merkins on the previous round because YHC felt 4 single merkins wasn’t worth getting into position).
The mountain climbers usually cause YHC’s shirt to move up (if not tucked in), exposing a body that only looks great when it’s really dark outside. Unfortunately, we’re just a few days before we move to daylight saving time so there was plenty of light. YHC warned that if the mumble chatter about the shirt wouldn’t stop the shirt will come off. Seems the threat worked!
We moseyed back to the flag. The gazelles had a short round of Flatter Kicks.
COT:
Duke getting ready for a Motha tough (?) challenge. VQ at the Widowmaker tomorrow. Safe travels to Flo and Cookie who’ll be traveling this weekend.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
The inspiration for this workout came from a BD I did in Cherokee some time ago.
I have my regular AOs I go to and part of the reason I wake up early is to see my friends, but I also really recommend PAX to visit other AOs, see how they run and bring something new back to your home AOs.
