Burp n’ Merk 5k

Preamble:

Lumberg threw out a challenge to the Norseman for the Month of March.  Head to head  most pax, most pre-runs, most FNG’s, most VQ’s, most cotters.  Should be an easy win for the Rubicon with all their Pax.  They have been having problematic numbers for some time now.  But who knows?  We have a pretty resilient group at the Norseman.  With the challenge starting 5 Pax showed up for the pre-run.  Pretty average for the Norseman and we still beat the Rubicon.

Warm-O-Rama:

With 16 men ready to go at 5:28 Nacho left his air chair position and headed towards the flag to rally the men.  We moseyed towards the HS and took a quick left turn.  Some mumble chatter about missing out on the cinders.  We circled up for some SSH’s, Weedpickers, and Squats.

The Thang:

The pax was in for a classic string of pearls 5k.  With the pre-run taking off here recently we have a couple of good 5k routes.  With this being a beatdown YHC knew we couldn’t just run.  The Pax wanted more.  So the plan was 20 burpees for every green light and 10 Merkins for every stop sign.  We looped out of the norseman and headed for the Lowes route.  That gave us 80 burpees and a bunch of merkins.  Ended the beatdown with just over a 5k distance.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Lost of activity on the road this morning.  Lost of cars passing by honking at the Pax.  Felt like the strip in Panama City on spring break.  The ladies must like the Norseman.  I can’t imagine the Rubicon guys having that problem.  Also we almost had our first arrest for pre running.  Saint was going over the speed limit and go flashed by the local Milton PD.  Pre run at your own risk.
