Cusack Mile
AO: The Wreck
When: 01/27/2021
QIC: AFLAC
PAX (14): Squeak, Bieber, Bear, GMonkey, Scratch-Off, Sellout, Foley, Bronco, Swamp Donkey, Circus, Boomstick, Turbine, Double-D, AFLAC
Preamble:
With a Q on the horizon, YHC was looking forward to improving upon the ever popular Farmer’s Mile by eliminating certain shenanigans against the Q and tweaking the idiocy to make the outcome even less predictable. A heavy rain threatened to damper attendance, but Squeak showed up with an umbrella and Swamp Donkey managed to get out of the fart-sack twice so as to ensure that they didn’t miss out on the fun.
Warm-O-Rama:
Remain at the flag for the following warm-ups:
- SSH
- Hillbilly’s
- Weed Picker’s
The Thang:
Q directed all PAX to fetch a coupon from GMonkey’s sweat-wagon and head toward the street where instructions were given. All PAX were directed to Cusack with coupon until reaching a speed-bump, at which time they would perform the following exercises:
- 5 Burpees OR 10 Thrusters w/coupon.
- 10 Overhead Press w/coupon
- 15 Curls w/coupon
- 20 Rows w/coupon
Now, the speed-bumps at The Wreck aren’t exactly evenly spaced, and there are exactly 5 of them stretching from the flag to the far end of the park. With that knowledge in mind, Q banked on the fact that some PAX might not be able to Cusack the longer stretches, thus leveling the playing field a bit. However, given the crappy weather and boisterous chatter amongst the PAX, YHC opted to toss out this penalty (save for a brief moment with Scratch-Off) in order to keep PAX together. We’ll save the real competition for better weather.
It should be stated that YHC specifically provided an alternative to Burpees for a certain PAX, who shall remain nameless and who wasn’t exactly grateful for the substitution.
PAX managed to Cusack their way to the far cul-de-sac at The Wreck (1/2 mile from the flag), at which point Q motioned for a return trip with roughly 20min left on the clock. I believe it was at this point that Squeak conveniently destroyed his coupon. Not sure if Bronco put him up to that or not, as he ended up toting the remains back to the flag.
With almost a mile Cusack’d and the end in sight, Q called time at the last speed-bump and directed PAX back to the flag. No time for Mary today.
COT:
- Prayers that our country can continue to heal in these difficult times.
