The 300
AO: The Gladiator
When: 06/18/2020
QIC: Tebow
PAX (20): Black Box, Shiner, Shrinkage, Speedo, Cheneral, Sox, Tar Heel (FNG), Delicious, Zohan, Spandex, Pitstop, Waffles, Postal, Viking, Scratch Off, Brownie, Scar, Laces, Stroller
Preamble:
It was the 2 year anniversary and seemed only appropriate for the Gladiator to become the 300!
With the hill seeker challenge going for the Thundermeat group, and with YHC participating, minimal leg work was incorprated this morning.
A quick disclaimer for the FNG that got EH’d by Cheneral and we were off! (sorry Cheneral for saying we wouldn’t be running much today… I think I turned out to be a liar).
Warm-O-Rama:
A quick mosey with SSH, Hillbillies, Windmills and Arm Circles. We then counted off kn 4s so that we could keep ourselves in small groups with the large number of PAX today.
The Thang:
Mucho Chesto Mile with the Catalina Wine Mixer thrown in. Split into 4 groups on one of the soccer fields.
First round, 25 merkins, 25 wide, 25 diamonds, 5 catalina wine mixers
2nd round, 20, 20, 20, 4. 3rd 15, 15, 15, 3, 4th 10, 10, 10, 2, last round 5, 5, 5, 1.
We returned to the center circle after each round to keep the group together… which was necessarly as 50 pound Waffles was flying past everybody on this one.
5 laps around the field is usually about a mile… although I heard some dissenters informing me that we were short on the distance… only one thing to do about that….
SUICIDE TIME!
A quick mosey to the other soccer field because it has more lines. We had 6 stops and did 5 burpees at each stop before returning to the end line where we started. Gazelles came around and swept up the 6.
An audit is ongoing, but between the mucho chesto mile and the burpees, it should have been a grand total of 300 push ups.
With time running short, it was time to mosey back to the flag.
MARY
Postal channeled his inner Mufasa for some American Hammers.
Waffles called a whole bunch of Flutter kicks.
Cheneral exposed the Qs poor BBSU form.
Laces had some double (or maybe triple) time mountain climbers.
Zohan closed us out with some boxcutters.
Everyone was very ambitious with their rep count back by the flag today… I love it!
COT:
Thanks to Spandex and Scar for getting the Gladiator started and Spandex for serving as the site Q for two years. The PAX donated a YETI coffee thermos with Spandex’s name on it and Scar provided quite the elegant Gladiator Helmet. If you want to see Spandex’s final gift, you’ll have to return to the BD on June 30th.
There will be a long ruck next weekend. It will be a night ruck, most likely launching from Rubicon.
A continued plea for more platelets at the behest of BlackBox’s long lost friend that said that was something that we could all actually do.
Praise for a successful Grand Opening of CH Home for Shrinkage and his M.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
YHC will be taking over as site Q, I guess planning on a year… who knows how that’s actually supposed to work! But I am honored to serve and proud to be a member of this group of men.
It was great to see a big group again and proud that we are able to still build each other up responsibly.
Thanks as always for the opportunity to lead!
