Coupon Murph Circuits

Preamble:

With temps well in the 60’s and fresh off a Virginia Slim call-out the night prior, YHC was hoping for summer-like numbers and the PAX didn’t disappoint (well, except for Slim).  With an FNG in tow and 0530 on the clock, it was time to get rolling.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey up the main drag and circle up at the first parking lot for the following:

• Side-Straddle Hops
• Weed Pickers
• Windmills

Continue mosey toward the back half of the AO and direct low-mosey’rs to lunge-walk across the large parking lot while leading the remaining PAX on a perimeter tour.  Gather low-mosey’rs on the turn before easing up at the playground for the main event.

The Thang:

Knowing that we have a true Murph looming for Memorial Day, YHC wanted to introduce a twist on his favorite BD to get a measure of the PAX.  This meant the addition of coupons and burpees, simply because they improve everything.  A Murph circuit would be the BD du jour, consisting of the following:

• 10 Pull-Ups
• 20 Decline Merkins
• 25 Overhead Press (with coupon)
• 30 Squats (with coupon)
• Run perimeter of baseball field, stopping at the flag for 10 Burpees
• Rinse/repeat the above, subtracting 1 Burpee for each round

YHC believes that he and Rusty got through 5 rounds before time was up, despite getting passed by Bieber and Bronco.  Great work and plenty of mumble-chatter all around.  Squeegee serves as a good barometer of the BD – if I can’t hear him from 10 yards away, it’s time to turn up the volume (unless he’s just way ahead of me, which is happening a lot lately).

With 5 minutes to go, Q directs PAX to hoist the coupon and cusack back toward the flag.  Deposit coupons in the ditch for another day, and get in a short round of Mary before time was called.
