Preamble:
For anyone that knows me, one of the things I love is music. So, I thought it was time to have a little music in my next Q. I was intentional with the song titles I chose as I was hoping to convey the titles of said songs to the BD. I think most of the Pax got that….except for Slim…
As I said in my disclaimer: Today’s BD is meant make you a Better Man & bring out The Best Of You. This one is for all you Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers. Modify as necessary so you don’t get hurt No Excuses. As I posted in Slack the night before “I promise I won’t throw a Monkey Wrench in your day” However as the rain fell to begin the beatdown, nobody can account for mother nature…
Warm-O-Rama:
Mosey to the parking lot by the swimming pool for a quick warm up. SSH, Cotton pickers, Hillbilly’s and Mountain Climbers to start. Next the pax partnered up. Then it was a brief mosey to the ROCK pile. Each pair grabbed a coupon the moseyed to the Field of Dreams.
The Thang:
Waiting for us at the Field of Dreams was a board with a list of songs and exercises. 8 songs with 8 exercises. Partner 1 starts with said exercise. Partner 2 runs on the warning track to the right field foul pole – then flapjack. Each exercise is performed until the song that is next to the exercise is over.
Songs and exercises were:
“Limelight” – Squat Thrust
“Better man” – Skull crushers
“Money Wrench” – Monkey Humpers
“Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers” – Hungarian Dead lifts
“Best of you” – Curls
“No excuses” V-Ups
“Right now” – Merkins
“I got the 6” – Bonnie Blair’s with Coupon
We finished up with the last song, brought our coupons home and returned to the flag for one round of Mary (Am Hammers)
COT:
Continued prayers to those brothers with family members battling health issues. Prayers to Devito’s M for safe travels home. Continued thoughts and prayers for Pitstop as he navigates life challenges personally and professionally.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
My favorite mumble chatter moments overheard during today’s BD, came from Devito and Grease Monkey. At one point towards the middle of the BD. Grease Monkey said: “Zima you found some Aflac Kryptonite.” And towards the end when the 8th and final song started YHC called out ‘Bonnie Blair’s with your rock’ and as I was starting my set I hear groaning come from my left in the vicinity of Devito. I said what’s the matter to which he said something like: “This exercise is so last year, I though I’d seen the last of this bitch!” Jackalope mentioned there was an apparent lack of intensity at a different F3 AO he recently visited. T claps for us here in the Alpha where we push each other to be the best!
