Getting Uncomfortable

Preamble:

The promise of punch and pie for YHC's 2 year manniversary enticed 10 PAX to come out.  It was all a trick.  There was neither punch nor pie.  I have realized in these 2 years that when I Q I tend to choose a routine that is comfortable for me.  I decided to get out of my comfort zone.

Warm-O-Rama:

Lap around the club parking lot then circle up for Willie Mays Hayes, SSH, Weed Pickers, Imperial Walkers and arm circles.

The Thang:

  • Run up Lake Windward towards Clipper Bay and do 15 merkins at each stop light
  • Hills in general are a nemesis to me.  Let's get uncomfortable and do 11's up and down the hill between Clipper Bay and Webb Br Rd. Carolina Dry Docks and a squat/calf raise combo with an arm raise/spirit fingers at the top if you are so inclined (possibly named the "sparkles?").
  • Circle up back at the parking lot and give each PAX a chance to name an exercise they despise.  Let's get uncomfortable and do 12 reps of each.  I call bulls*** that Avis chose Burpees as an exercise he despises.
  • Time. Back to the flag.

It's been a great 2 years.  I appreciate being welcomed into this awesome group of guys.  I'll be thinking of ways to continue to push myself outside of my comfort zone and would challenge you all to do the same.  Until next Q...
