Preamble:

It had been a while since YHC posted at the Norseman and even longer since I've had the Q, so what better time to return than a perfect fall morning. Temps in the mid 50's and 15 PAX answered the call. On tap was a heart rate blaster that none of us knew we were ready for. 5:30AM hit and off into the gloom we went.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey in a big circle around the parking lot and eventually make our way to the bigger lot across the street. Circle up for:
  • SSH
  • Imperial Walker
  • Weed Twister (same as Weed Picker but turn your body during clap to stretch the back)
  • Arm Circles

The Thang:

Head across the parking lot where the PAX were instructed to grab a medium-heavy coupon. Rifle carry across to the other side where YHC's car was waiting. Grab a partner and listen up for instructions. The board had the following exercises. They would be done in a 12 days of Christmas style. Run a lap, come back to do 5 burpees, then a lap, then 10 merkins, 5 burpees, lap, etc.  Each person would do their own rep count, however everyone had a buddy to keep the mumblechatter going and hold them accountable for the reps.
  • 1 LAP
  • 5 BURPEES
  • 10 MERKINS
  • 15 OVERHEAD PRESS
  • 20 MTN CLIMBERS
  • 25 SQUATS
  • 30 CURLS
  • 35 PLANK JACKS
  • 40 IMPERIAL WALKERS
  • 45 SSH
  • 50 BEAR CRAWL BONUS
Time running out on the last round, we cut it a little short to jump into the bonus section which included a long bear crawl. Return the coupons and head back to the flag, no time for Mary.

COT:

Prayers to those who are in the wake of the hurricane (again). Praise to Ha-Ha for completing the Rim to Rim challenge out at Grand Canyon this weekend. He is a true HIM and a great example for those of us a little younger than he. Good luck to our 6th man, Matlock, as he is embarking on a new work adventure in the coming months. And finally, thanks to Knight Rider for being such a great leader and host, he invited me a few weeks back and I could not resist.
  • Honored to lead.  - Cookie
