Preamble:

On a bright, beautiful Saturday morning we gathered in Brooke Street Park for our annual Alpha Region Convergence with F3, FIA, and all of our 2.0s. By 7:00 am when YHC rolled up the ruckers were out and about in Alpharetta and the runners were trotting back into the quad where we all gathered to start out.

Warm-O-Rama:

After a short introduction from YHC outlining how this was supposed to go down, Rapid and Dreamer led us in a Warm-up before we dispersed to the various stations and waiting Qs.

The Thang:

Station 1: Nacho and Queso’s Deck of Death
Four cones were arranged around the loop of the quad every quarter section.
Pick a card, do the # of reps shown on the card, mosey to the next cone, and repeat.
Hearts = Side Straddle Hops, Diamonds = Dollys, Spades = Squats, and Clubs = Mountain Climbers

If a Queen was picked, girls did 5 burpees and guys planked.
If a King was picked, guys did 10 burpees and girls planked.
If an Ace was picked, it was wild and Pax do 5 of each exercise: SSHs, Dollys, Squats, and Mountain Climbers.

Station 2: Tex and Challenger’s Rocky Tribute
45 seconds working, 15 seconds resting throughout the time.

  1. Jab and Bounce
    – Right Arm
  2. Jab and Bounce – Left Arm
  3. Alternating Upper Cuts and Squats
  4. Moving Squats with Cross-Punch
  5. Alternating Hooks with Squats
  6. SSH/Jumping Jacks
  7. High Knees with (Imaginary) Jump Rope
  8. Speed Bag
  9. Run up the Stairs, “V” for Victory, Run back to start

Station 3: Avis’ Burdened Man Bear Crawl
Pax started right into it with 5 Burpees.
Lunge walk to the eastern corner of the park.
1 minute of Merkins.
Lunge walk to the telephone pole.
1 minute of Flutterkicks
Bear crawl to the tree.
1 minute of Squats.
Bear crawl to the corner.
1 minute of Hello Dollys
Lunge walk down the path (toward the start).
1 minute of Mountain Climbers
Lunge back to the start.

COT:

After all Pax rotated through all three stations, we gathered back in the quad for name-o-rama. Pax stayed in their groups from the stations to help move the naming along before we circled up for the final count-off as a group.

After the count-off, Rapid and Dreamer led us in a Circle of Trust with a reading from Romans. They used the passage to describe how each of us has different gifts that we can use to help each other out and create a stronger community.
