Preamble:
I was looking for a new challenge this morning. I was looking to shake thinks up. My BIL told me about a Q he did upon turning 50 several years back so I thought I would take it for a spin.
8 for pre-run including Scar who arrived a few minutes late after changing his tire coming off of GA 400.
Warm-O-Rama:
Usual disclaimer given and we mosied up to the “big lot” between the football and softball fields. We need a good stretch with what we have on tap so:
- SSH
- Weed Pickers
- Sprinter calf stretch to Atlas both left and right
Mosey to the football field.
The Thang:
The Tornado
The object of the Q is to run 35 yards, 10x named exercise, run 35 yards back, 10x exercise, and once again for trip out and back. The twist is if the Q beat everyone on the sprint then the exercise count goes up by 4x to 40 reps. After each set of 4, 10 count and new exercise.
- Merkins 10x, 10x, 10x, 10x (sprints between each 10x)
- LBC 10x, 10x, 10x, 10x
- Squat 10x, 10x, 10x, 10x
- Corolina Dry Dock 10x, 10x, 10x, 10x
- Freddy Mercury 10x, 10x, 10x, 10x
- Jump Squat 10x, 10x, 10x, 10x
- Hand Release Merkins 10x, 10x, 10x, 10x
- Flutter Kicks (L/R =1) 10x, 10x, 10x, 10x
- Bonnie Blairs 10x, 10x, 10x, 10x
- Last round Burpees 10x, 10x, 10x, 10x
YHC did not win a sprint but can very close! Jethro saved it for the PAX by diving across the goal line saving his fellow PAX from a loss and extra reps. Someone owes him a beer!
I think most PAX were surprised at the top end speed YHC was able to exhibit and discussions were taking place on who would ensure the win on each round.
After Burpees we mosied back to the flag for:
- T Bombs
- Dying Cockroach
COT:
Nacho’s “procedure” will have to wait 6 weeks
NLB this Saturday at 4:00 pm with dinner to follow at 5.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
It was great seeing how hard everyone could work when properly motivated! A little competition is good for encouraging hard work. We had some serious sprinting going on this morning.
Let’s take that energy into the day in our other endevours.
Great TNT from Dr. Rico! Gratitude is not gratitude if we keep it to our selves! Share your gratitude with those around you. Let them know you are thankful for them and what they do.
