Preamble:
YHC got some inspiration for this one from an Aflac Board of Pain at the Wreck a few weeks back. It’s a bit of a modification, but man did it deliver. And hey, the rain held out for us!
Warm-O-Rama:
Quick loop around the parking lot to loosen up a bit, then:
- SSH
- Weed Pickers
- Moroccan Night Clubs
- Imperial Walkers
- Mosey to the Field
The Thang:
The PAX circled up around the object of our torture this fine morning and felt a mixture of excitement, dread, and determination swell. What was said object? A whiteboard with simple instructions. 50 reps of a stated exercise, Bear Crawl 30 Yards, run a lap around the field. Rinse & repeat for the next exercise. Exercises included:
- 50 Burpees
- 50 Merkins
- 50 Single-legged Romanian Deadlifts (2-count)
- 50 Stone Mountain Merkins
- 50 Jump Squats
- 50 Diamond Merkins
- 50 American Hammers (2-count)
- 50 Squats
- 50 Shoulder Taps
The Q called everyone back to the baseline a little after 6:05 for his best Coach Brooks impersonation, whistle included. Ice skates not included.
- 60 Yard Shuttle
- Recover while the Q tries to be inspiring
- Again -> Whistle -> Run
- Can’t remember how many “agains”, but it was more than 4.
Let’s be real, YHC will never be Kurt Russell.
COT:
The PAX were (or was?) a little winded after this one, so not much in terms of announcements and prayers. It’s safe to say they were incredibly grateful that the Q was able to lead them through such a delightful experience. Well PAX, it’s mutual.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
In all seriousness, this was a real challenge. All of us got better this morning, and we even had a few gazelles finish the whole thing before the shuttles. I’m thankful for all of you; it was an honor to lead this morning.
