Board of Pain – 2021 Kickoff

Preamble:

As soon as YHC got the word that Bronco came down with pseudo-COVID (jury still out), he took a quick glance around his office and noticed something gathering dust in the corner.  After a quick inspection and subsequent Slack confirmation that he’d fill the spot, it was time to make sure that the first BD of 2021 would be a memorable one.

Warm-O-Rama:

Upon performing a double-take at the sight of the ghost of I-Beam, Q led PAX on a slow mosey up the main road toward the large parking lot for the following warm-ups:

• SSHs
• Weed Pickers
• Sprinklers
• Slow Squat

The Thang:

After getting things warmed up, Q led a questioning PAX toward the field to provide instructions for the day.  The BD would be dead simple – perform 100 reps of each exercise listed, following by a 30yd bear-crawl and mosey around the rest of the football field.  Q confirmed with Juul (on roughly his 1yr anniversary) that this was his first BoP experience, so the Wreck PAX were long overdue.

Exercises include (listed in order):

• 100 Burpees
• 100 Merkins
• 100 Single-legged Romanian Deadlifts (2-count)
• 100 Stone Mountain Merkins
• 100 Jump Squats
• 100 Diamond Merkins
• 100 American Hammers (2-count)
• 100 Squats
• 100 Shoulder Taps
• 100 Plank Jacks
• 100 LBC’s (2-count)
• 100 J-Lo’s (2-count)

Not a whole lot of mumble-chatter once PAX got to work, which was by design.  A couple of PAX opted for rounds of 50, conveniently avoiding the 100 Burpee intro.  I-Beam performed a clean Irish exist with 15 remaining on the clock while remaining PAX continued to grind.

With T-5, Q directed all PAX to finish up and head back to the flag.  No time for Mary today.
