Preamble:
Fresh off the back of taking DC2 for his first ATLUTD experience, standing in my kitchen at near Midnight trying to think of a Beatdown for the gloom… I had an idea…
The gloom arrived before I wanted it to, and off to the Gladiator I went.
Warm-O-Rama:
Before we got started, I got our brains working by sharing a quote I had heard the day before:
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.”―
The Pax grumbled on what that even meant and we were off…warm-O-Rama was somewhat skipped as we had a lot ahead of us this morning, we moseyed to the rock pile- grabbed our coupons and moseyed to the second, underused football pitch where we had some music, footballs and plenty of space for a beatdown.
The Thang:
Pairing up, we would complete the following exercises while our partner did his best Lionel Messi impression of dribbling to the half way line and back before taking up where his partner had left off on the count.
150 Merkins
300 Curls (With Coupons)
150 Side Arm Raises (With Coupons)
300 Fast Rows (With Coupons)
150 Mayweathers (Coupons in hand and air punching in front of you)
300 Shoulder Presses (With Coupons)
150 Slow Long Rows (With Coupons)
Double American Hammer for the Six.
The Pax were all able to finish the beatdown with only a few minutes remaining so a sharp mosey to return our coupons and then somewhat of a sprint to the flag for the finish.
COT:
Wicka-Wicka landed a new role and has outpatient surgery so was asking for prayers that all goes smoothly.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
Not only fresh from the Football, YHC had spent the past two days at a local Sales Engagement conference where I was fortunate to see two very good keynote speakers, my takeaways were as follows:
1- Danny Meyer (Shakeshack Founder)- “People will always remember the way you make them feel”
2- Collin O’Brady- If you don’t know who he is, check out his website. Inspirational man and talks about how he pushed through some mental barriers as he made his way solo across Antartica.
