I’ve got a fever…and the only prescription is more COWBELL!!
AO: Cowbell
When: 03/06/2019
QIC: Callahan
PAX (9): Hombre, Quagmire, Manning, Sockeye (FNG), Ha-Ha, Pelosi, Whiz, Hasbro, Callahan
Preamble:
Twas a cold one in Milton as temps were touching 20 with a wind chill of 13…and dost my eyes deceive me…an FNG on this cold morning??? Well played young lad.
Warm-O-Rama:
We started running the loop around the park and found our way to the covered pavilion for the following:
SSH – (“14…who does 14 of an exercise???” “Me…now pay attention!”)
Weed Pickers
Imperial Walkers
Continue mosey around the loop past the batting cages and find our way to the first football field.
The Thang:
Seeing as how this big ol park is a new location for us, YHC thought it would be best to explore the amenities, and explore we would. We touched each of the football and baseball fields at Bell Memorial and at each field we performed one exercise at numerous spots. Here’s how it went down.
Field 1 – 5 merkins at the end zone, then mosey to the 50. 5 more merkins. Mosey to the far end zone. 5 more merkins. Seeing a pattern? Solid. Do the same on the opposite side of the field.
Mosey to Field 2 – YHC had planned for Sumo squats, but when one of the PAX requests Monkey Humpers, then that request must not be ignored. 5 at each corner of the football field and 5 at the 50’s in between.
Mosey to the first baseball field for alternating shoulder taps. 5 at home plate, first base, right field, left field, 3rd base and then at home. Plank for the 6.
At the second baseball field we did 5 crunchy frogs at each location as the field before. Plank for the 6.
At the third baseball field we did 5 squats at each location as the field before. Plank for the 6…and then someone called out Merkins until the 6 rolled up.
Mosey towards the parking lot for an indian run…ahem…native american run to tour the lot. After the mosey we headed to do some dips past the playground.
YHC was then gently reminded that we forgot a field on the tour! Simple mistake seeing as how the park is quite dark and the ol’ headlamps were needed, YHC simply forgot!
We did a quick set of 30 dips, then moseyed to the long lost field.
At the fourth baseball field we did 5 plank jacks at each location. Solid quote by Manning at the warning track in centerfield, “dang…this really was a full tour”. Tip your tour guide next time. I digress.
We then found ourselves at the walls that were just calling out for some dips and step ups. 20 dips, then 10 step ups with each leg.
Finished up with a round of Mary:
Flutter Kicks, LBCs, Freddie Mercury, then YHC had a terrible idea to kick it to Ha-Ha to give the last exercise. The PAX were instructed to get into plank position, then call out the first of the 5 core principles of F3. Needless to say, we missed the order on a few and had to do 10 merkins each miss.
For homework purposes only, remember that F3 workouts…
- Are free of charge
- Are open to all men
- Are held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold
- Are led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary
- End with a Circle of Trust
COT:
Welcome FNG Sockeye! He goes on an annual fishing trip to Alaska with family. Lives just down the street from the park and plans on bringing all of his friends to the next beatdown…right Sockeye??? Well done on a solid first beatdown!
We discussed numerous names for the new AO. The Cowbell received much attention…Bell Memorial Park…lots of cows around…you get the picture.
Prayers for Pelosi and his dad. Pelosi lost his mom a month and a half ago and his dad is having a tough time. He is flying in today to be with Pelosi and family and we pray that the time spent together would help to heal the wounds of his mom passing. Thanks for opening up…we’re praying for you, bro!
Thankful for a great park where we can keep F3 growing as we aim to invigorate male leadership in the community.
“Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you find him”. Great workout, gents! SYITG!
