Not to be outdone, by our prior younger Q (CIA and his birthday celebration), YHC steadied himself, summoned his mental strength and called on the powers that be, (akin to Professor X and Cerbero) and managed to draw out a gathering of PAX, 26 strong. It was another gloriously steamy start to the day in the Woody, and with no further delay, we got into it.
All IC and X12 (times 2) SSH, Imperial Walkers, Squats, Cotton-Pickers and Stone Mountains (followed by a brief planking after the 2nd round). From here, we counted of 1,2,1,2 and the one 1’s went left, while 2 the 2’s followed Rambo and Guard-Dawg, and went right. (bad idea for future reference to leave those 2 in charge).
The 1’s went along the front side of the school and out to Vanderlyn, across to the Vanderlyn drive way, found the wood chip trail, to Womack and back to the school. The 2’s went the other way and did some semblance of a loop, but not quite what the Q had in mind.
We gathered back at the parking lot and partnered up for a DORA of sorts. While the 1st partner does a lap around the retention pond, the 2nd partner began their own personal DORA (100 Merkins, 200 Squats, 300 low-dolly’s). The Q left it up to each PAX as to how to get it done, so long as you get it done. (may have slightly over reached on this one, as not many PAX actually finished, but many got close.
With two minutes to go, YHC halted the laps and brought all back together, so we could close out the beatdown together.
We finished up with 40 Air Presses and 10 HRMs OYO. (with encouragement by YHC to finish on DORA OYO if you did not finish today…I still have Low Dolly’s left.)
Two-Speed took us out with a special prayer for young Vera and for our community.
Update on Lutafisk’s daughter Vera. They will be leaving the ATL and heading to Boston late this week or early next. (They have to work out some details). We will keep Vera in our thoughts and hearts.
On a personal note, the growth that this AO has experienced is tremendous and I am in awe both of the level of commitment and the communal networking that we are doing to grow this AO.
Can’t wait to see where our numbers are by the end of summer.
