Preamble:
Happy to be back at the helm after an extended 3-week absence! Time to try out that musical beatdown I had planned... you know that time I slept through my alarm and missed my own Q?Warm-O-Rama:
Warmed up with some SSH Imperial Walkers Toy Soldiers Willie Mays Hayes Hangovers Puff Daddy was now in position, so time to mosey :)The Thang:
We started with a mosey as I queued up the playlist starting with, you guessed it "Run" by OneRepublic. Things were going swimmingly as we looped the parking lot, executed slides, butt-kickers, and high knees until my speaker which is never dead... died. As the PAX finished the loop in silence, YHC dropped them off at the Ari overhang and grabbed my backup speaker (Model Y) which I parked adjacent to the overhang. Windows down and music ready, I explained a simple plan. A song for each exercise, PAX partnered up and while 1 partner did the exercise the other ran to the edge of the back parking lot and returned, swapping roles endlessly. The endless swapping was only made more interesting by the switching of the exercise at each new (and hopefully appropriate) song. The following musical exercises were performed: 1) Broad Jumps - Jump (Kris Kross) 2) Freddy Mercury - Bicycle Race (Queen) 3) Mountain Climbers - Mountain Music (Alabama) 4) Copperhead Squats - Get Low (Lil Jon) 5) SSH - Jumpin' Jack Flash (The Rolling Stones) 6) Mercans - Push It (Salt-N-Pepa) 7) Hillbillies - Man of Constant Sorrow (Soggy Bottom Boys) 8) Burpees - Bring Sally Up Remix (Jessie Lee Pratcher originally) 9) Plank Jacks - Bounce Back (Big Sean) Only a few minutes remained and we finished with some Mary- American Hammers
