It’s a change of season, and with that comes a change of scenery. YHC thought the PAX could use some OC sights and sounds with a hill that looks easier on paper and in my head than it is in reality, and that all became clear in the gloom. Scott’s Mill Hill…the only 12% grade in the PTC area (at least that YHC can think of). Interesting fact…the grade of this hill is the average grade of Pike’s Peak, but PP goes on for 12 miles. SMH was only 0.2.
Warm up was our mosey 0.7 miles to the bottom of SMH.
x6 of each Ex below (all single count):
Flag Merkin, Squat, Reverse LBC
1 Set of Ex at Bottom, Run up SMH, 1 Set of Ex at Top, Run down SMH, 1 Set of Ex at Bottom
Indian Ruck (PAX hike up SMH, The 6 runs up to front of line)
Round 2: same format as Rd. 1 but following Ex’s
Plank Jack, Lunge, Pickle Pounder
Round 3: same format as Rd. 1&2 but following Ex’s and no Indian Ruck
Carolina Drydock, Bonnie Blair, Flutter Kick
Fast mosey back to flag for 0.7 miles…and TIME (3 minutes over)
Announcements: NLB Weekend
Prayers: Birdie’s M, Humperdink traveling and Uncle’s memorial svc, Popper traveling and job uncertainties, YHC’s dad, Maguire foot
Thankful that so many PAX came out with headlamps and vests and God gave us a quiet morning so we could complete this BD without any issues. I’m consistently impressed and humbled by all the PAX that come out and grind it out ITG. This one turned out to be especially taxing and we finished 3 minutes over the allotted time, but all PAX had a great attitude and extended some grace to YHC. Most memorable quote of the BD was “I thought I was in shape until I ran up that hill.” (@Hackeysack). ‘Nuff said.
