COT:

All PAX around the COT stated the name and rank of a fallen hero (Thank you, Speedo for bringing the sheets from Sprocket). We then prayed for the fallen and their families.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

It was great to see not just the F3 PAX out there, but to see 8 2.0’s out as well. It’s important to pass on the honoring of the sacrifice that many have made before us, and continue to make to this day. It’s not cliche to say “Freedom’s not free,” and our taking the time to remember those who didn’t come back is a a small gesture to let folks know that we understand that notion. YHC closes with these words that capture the spirit of Memorial Day…..

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
        In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
        In Flanders fields.
