Preamble:

15 Pax gathered on a sultry May morning. The cold crisp Winter and Spring had abruptly made the shift to near Summer like conditions with the temperature hovering around 67 and humidity well above 80%.  The pre-runners (Nacho Libre and Callahan) arrived as the clock struck 0530.  Disclaimers were spoken and all pax indicated their agreement.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey on over to the big parking lot for a lap around the perimeter at a faster pace than normal for YHC.  Into some SSH, Weedpickers, Hill Billies and around the group one time for a Circle Burp.

The Thang:

YHC is still hearing his former neighbor Beth’s suggestion of three years ago to do build up his shoulders so better late than never.  The pax grabbed some space along the curb for some shoulder and chest work. 10 Mike Tysons, 20 Durkins, 20 Squats and 20 Merkins.

Mosey on down past the football fields to the bottom of the hill leading up to the tennis courts.  The pax partnered up for some hill work.  This hill work was a bit different, after all, neighbor Beth believes big shoulders are better.  Instead of running, the pax set out to wheelbarrow up the hill, switching off as needed until the summit was reached.  The pax planked for the six and did and eight count (might have been 18).  Some more chest work was in order.  Two sets of 20 Merkins and 20 Squats.

Mosey back down the hill and up to Football Field 2 which was well lit by the previous night’s coach who forgot to shut them down.  The pax lined up on the starting line (aka goal line).  10 Merkins on the north goal line, run to the far goal line and 5 burpees.  Run back and repeat, and repeat and repeat until the hour struck 0610 and back to the flag for some Mary.  Pepper was a good site Q and pointed out the Defibrillator box stored on the side of the score keepers tower on the west side of the field.  The Respect club took note.

Back to the pavilion for some Mary. YHC made the mistake of having Delorean lead some planks. Delorean is the world’s slowest counter, making 10 seconds last for 60.  But the pax were better for it.

COT:

Prayers for Chapter 11 and family as they set out on a car trip to the midwest.  Gratitude for Jackson the 6 year old baseball player who quickly recovered from Rheumatic Fever but might have to medicate the rest of his life.  And prayers for Barge Stoios and his family.  Barge was a friend and neighbor to some of the pax and lost his life in a car accident last weekend.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

So grateful to have the privilege to provide the beatdown and exercise among such amazing guys.  Means so much to me. Thanks Pepper for the reminder to sign up to Q.  It’s a blessing.
