GRR’s and Captain Dora

AO: Boneyard

When: 01/27/2023

QIC: FannyPack

PAX (5): FannyPack, Feathers, Mater, Reboot, Brownie

Preamble:

At 5:27, the parking lot was empty; I was already thinking about getting back into the fartsack.  But with 2 HC’s I figured accountability was on the way.  Sure enough, 4 PAX rolled in at the buzzer and we started the BD.

This was a bit of a repeat from the Rubicon yesterday.  Glad to have a turf field this time.  BTW, the big field needs a name, so when I’m the Q I call it the Alien Landing Pad.  I’m ok if we shorten this to the “ALP”.  I get it that it may not stick; but I have a strong conviction that we need a more catchy name than “the big turf field”.

Warm-O-Rama:

A mosie around the parking lot/pavilion loop included high knees, buttkickers, and karacokakcoe left & right.  We circled up near the end of the loop for:

  • 15 SSH
  • 10 Weedpickers
  • 15 Hillbillies
  • 10 Windmills
  • Arm Circles fwd & back

The Thang:

We finished the loop, picked up the cinders, and headed to the alien landing pad (ALP).  Started off with:

Bataan Death March around the field.  With 5 pax, we ran until everyone complete 10 burpees, roughly two laps.  We carried the cinders to the big center circle, spaced ourselves around the perimeter, and sat next to our cinders for…

Grip, Rip, and Roll, clockwise around the circle.  Pick up the cinder, haul over your opposite side, roll up into a high plank, keep rolling off and repeat.  Repeat 25 times.

Then, we went counter-clockwise, modifying by adding a cinder press at the bottom and a mercan at the top.  Repeat 25 times.

Dora 1,2,3 with cinders next.  100 presses, 200 curls, 300 rows while your partner runs across the ALP and back.

Captain Thor was up next with ~8 minutes left on the clock.  We went to the dark corner of the field for a better view of the stars, and YHC explained the 1:4 ascending ratio of BBSU’s and American Hammers.  For each set I called the starting number only.  After 5:20, I gave the traditional “we’re halfway there! kind of…” and we pressed on.  We made it to 9 BBSU’s when it was time.

COT:

Reminders on AED/CPR training coming up soon, and the Hillseekers running opportunity.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

This was a tiring week for me on a few different fronts, and I could definitely feel it this morning.  I know pushing through this BD with these men made me stronger today.  I’m very grateful for the accountability & great work was done by all.
