Navigating the Fog

AO: Windjammer

When: 01/18/2023

QIC: Nair

PAX (14): Caroline, Cookie, Cox, Deep dish, Mayflower, Milli Vanilli, Nair, NRA, Plumb Bob, Stroller, Stu, Walkie Talkie, Zohan, Boomer

Preamble:

A dense fog rolled over the Windjammer leaving 14 PAX to navigate the still waters of Windward with no wind to fill the sales and only teamwork to get the vessel back to port.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey to the dam for some SSH, Copperheads, Weed Pickers, Arm Circles, Covids (Michael Phelps).

With no wind we decide to head to inland waters to make our way back to safety.

The Thang:

We have to first navigate upstream to our turning point with manpower.  10 Merkins and 20 Crunchy Frogs…aka row the boat at each crossing.

At the turning point past Harbour Ridge we push to turn the boat down stream with 20 Mountain Climbers and “walk the” Plank for the 6

Heading downstream we need to signal other vessels through the fog, 5 burpees at each crossing.

We picked up a lot of speed by Signal Point, but the bow hit rock and had to dig the vessel out.

Grab a coupon and 3 sets of:

20 Skull Crushers, 20 Curls, 20 American Hammers, and 20 Squats then take a lap

The boat is free, but we have to pull it by hand to deeper waters: Lunges to the top of hill. Mosey to the damn, but stop on the way for 10 burpees at Townie’s house to signal our return.  Luckily he was still safely in bed.

Almost to port, but the oars are broken and we have to use leg power to get back in.  50 flutter kicks (alpha), 20 (breast stroke kicks) squat jumps.

Batten down the hatches – Indian run in two teams to the flag and the Windjammer is once again secure in the Windward Port.

COT:

Cookie and Walkie Talkie are sponsoring CPR Training on February 10th at their office building, more details to come.  Cox reminded us about Road ID and is working to get a group discount.  Welcome DC Boomer.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

I’ve enjoyed being part of F3 since starting a few months ago.  In addition to enjoying the comradery, it helps me get my day off to a good start and motivates me to make better all around decisions throughout the week.  The recent tragedy in the F3 community and my UGA athletics community, remind us that life is precious and to make the best of every day we have and appreciate those around us.
