Preamble:

When the call for 2023 Q sign-ups went out, suggested inspirations were 2.0 birthdays. YHC has 2 2.0 (1/5 and 1/6) birthdays this week and an au pair birthday (1/3), so this seemed like a perfect opportunity to design a beatdown around those celebrations.

YHC offered a quick welcome, introduction, and disclaimer to the attendant PAX and off we went into the gloom.

Warm-O-Rama:

Our mosey from the flag to the pool lot was extended since 50% of the parking lot lights were out when we arrived, and we circled up in the 3rd row of spaces for the warm-o-rama:
SSH
Weedpickers
Copperhead Squats
Toy Soldiers
Arm Cirlces and COVIDs

After the finish of the warm-up, we moseyed through the park to the rainy-day pavilion where our Board-o-Pain awaited.

The Thang:

YHC’s three birthdays this week were for a 4-year-old, a 6-year-old, and a 26-year-old, so we performed 4 rounds of 6 exercises at 26 reps an exercise.

1st Round          2nd Round          3rd Round           4th Round
LBC                    Big Boy                 V-Up                     Captain Thors
Bonnie Blairs   Super Marios      Box Jumps           Step-Ups
Merkin              Werkin                  Ranger Merkin   Diamond Merkin
J. Los                Mahkter n’Diaye Groiner                 Absolutions
Squat                Sumo Squats        Jump Squats       Split Squats
Burpee              Derkins                 Dips                      Incline Merkins

At the end of the round, Pax ran a lap to the wooden playground to loosen up the muscles for the next round. When time was called, Pax were nearing completion of the 4th round, but we needed a quick mosey to make it to the flag for COT.

COT:

MillerTime announced the 2023 Hillseeker Challenge would be the 1st weekend in March. Be on the lookout for details to benefit No Longer Bound.

Hollywood announced the addition of a Wednesday Beatdown at Crossroads. The first was unfortunately cancelled due to the crazy storm but be on the lookout for those wanting more miles.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

With the beatdown concluded Pax enjoyed coffeteria (Thank you to MT and Cookie) while False Start shared a TnT on how happiness, health, and fun are all intertwined. False Start has since posted the Ted Talk on the Rubicon Slack for those interested.

Thank you to all for coming out (10 Pre-Runners, 19 PAX). It was an honor to lead.
