Preamble:

It was a blistery cold morning when YHC donned extra loud wind pants, gloveless, and sheepishly approached a strange circle of men at O Dark Thirty.  These strange men… now friends, now battle buddies, now brothers.. embraced this sad clown and redefined him with a new name and imparted in him so much more.

If you spend anytime around this group, you’ll quickly identify some core values:

• Do Hard Things

• Be the opposite of a spineless rooster, be a cactus from Arizona
• Promote Leadership

Definitely a lot more to the list but today’s Beat Down was meant to honor some of these values

To continue the promotion of leadership, YHC voluntold 4 PAX to lead us in Mary to close out the BeatDown.  These 4 have rarely called cadence in YHC’s presence, all knocked it outta the park.  Well done, men – can’t wait to be lead by you more this year.

There are some really cool quotes about the type of people you surround yourself with and how that makes a positive impact on you.   Well, I’m surrounded by some bad-@$$ leaders and just being around them has made a significant impact on my life.

Though it may not be for a major corporation, we’re all called to be a BOSS.  At a minimum, we are the BOSS of our own life. For most of us – the Head of our Home.  Leading groups at work and religious organizations.  Personally, the spheres of leadership have been expanding, but I’ve learned to approach each one like preparing to Q a beatdown.  Come in with a plan, have options, take charge when needed but read the room and adjust accordingly. Push forward but keep everyone together.  Surround yourself with other high impact individuals and push for newer, higher goals.

For 2 Years,
