Thanks for the pain-giving

AO: Firehouse

When: 11/24/2022

QIC: Ace Ventura

PAX (14): Ace Ventura, Better Call Saul, Dunshire, Janeway, Komrad, LifeLock VPN, Lightweight, Script Kiddie, Seaman, Sirmixalot, Suarez, toadstool, Walter King, Zuckerburg/Snorlax

Preamble:

A vigorous pre-run was had by YHC, Script Kiddie, Toadstool, Seaman, Lightweight, Lifelock (yes he actually did not sleep through pre-run in his car) and Zuckerberg.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey to the Spot (TM).

Side-staddle hops, weedpickers, toy soldiers, torso twists, and Michael Phelps.

The Thang:

In the vein of Thanksgiving, YHC felt like the theme needed to be being thankful, especially for the opportunity to do something very difficult.  And due to YHC’s incredible lazin…. brilliance in letting PAX choose their own workout, it was decided that we each got to pick an exercise (between sprints), but it HAD TO BE SOMETHING THAT YOU HATE DOING.  YHC started with burpees.  PAX took turns doing things like Ranger Merkins, Fire Hydrants, Wolverines, and even an Indian Run.  When everyone had a chance to go, we did YHCs least favorite… RUNNING (precisely a long loop around the upper area of the AO).  Then we got back to the flag for a plank fest (thanks Lifelock), and some various forms of torture through some Mary.

COT:

We talked about the upcoming Santa Ruck, and then did some prayers.

YHC shared his MOC, which was that he personally is very thankful for all the men in this organization. As a point of personal privilege, this group has changed my life in immeasurable ways.  Honored to lead, but also humbled to such good men and good examples of the kind of life I wish to lead.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

We had one of the best coffeterias I have had in a while.  We picked up a random park straggler (I think he was being EH’d by Lightweight!).  We had the choice of coffee OR hot coco.

This 2nd F lasted until approximately 8AM (and would have lasted longer if we did not have some sort of obligation that forced us to leave).  What an amazing start to Thanksgiving.
