Windjammer Repels the Evil Forsythians

AO: Windjammer

When: 11/09/2022

QIC: Ha-ha

PAX (7): Caroline, Ha-ha, Longshanks, Maytag AI, Morphine, Townie, Walkie Talkie

Preamble:

The evil Forsythians are once again massing at the northern flank of the Windjammer AO along McGinnis Ferry Road. It is all under the guise of a training exercise but we know better. Constant vigilance is the watch word for Windjammer sentries. With the Greenway now connected to Forsyth County it give the evil Forsythians an easy route to our beloved gloom spa know as Windjammer. So the call was put out for reinforcements and 7 hardy souls answered the call. With 2 Teslas pulling in at 0530 a disclaimer was given and we launched.

Warm-O-Rama:

We started with an inspection of the eastern flank aka the pool parking lot.  Nur up the hill, side shuffle across to the other lane, forward run towards the pool house and left shuffle back to the first lane. Constant vigilance, always looking north towards the enemy.

Circle for the usual.

The Thang:

We mosied to the supply truck to requisition ammo to reinforce or Special Forces troupes holding defensive positions on the dam. We had to first clear the barbwire so we sat and passed in two lines the ammo bags from one PAX to the next. When the last bag was passed (9 each group) the PAX would move up in front of the bags and do it again passing side to side ever closer to the dam and danger. After several rounds we turned facing the other way to work the muscles as we passed in the opposite direction still toward the dam.

After clearing the barbwire we had to hustle the ammo over clear ground where we were open to enemy fire. 7 PAX shuttle the bags from one light pole to the next until we had crossed over the dam to the other side. It was a glorious sight running though the two rows of US flags standing straight out in a stiff wind off the lake.

After gathering on the north side of the dam we could not spot our special forces troupes as they were well camouflaged.  We received word from command that we were to inspect the dam for mines so we split into two groups and each took one ammo bag as a marker to keep track of our place. Each man would move the bag one flag forward and perform 5 merkins, 10 LBCs and 15 squats. With 3 PAX on each side (Longshanks was recalled by headquarters. He was hoping for promotion but I suspect he is cleaning a latrine somewhere.) we inspected each flag until, surprise, for no reason given we were told to return the ammo bags back to the supply truck.  Welcome to the Army. We shuttled all the bags back to the truck and time was up.

Once again the evil Forsythians had seen the reinforcements and had retreated back to their base. No doubt we will see them again.
