Halloween Double Haunted Run

AO: Crossroads

When: 10/31/2022

QIC: Hollywood

PAX (5): Avis, El Matador, Ha-ha, Hollywood, Turbine

Preamble:

We had two Graveyard options for today, unfortunately one was an early launce at 5:00 for a 9 miler, and the other was at the traditional 5:30 launch for a 5 miler, but the rain last night may have scared the humans away from the fun.

Warm-O-Rama:

Rain was drizzling so the best way to warm up is to just start running so that is what we did, right at 5:00 am.

The Thang:

For the 9 miler we headed straight down crabapple and hit up 140 for a long, windy, a bit hilly route in the dark.  We were prewarned to be aware of a few spots where we ran out of sidewalk and shoulders were close.  Route there was pretty uneventful with only a little car dodging needed.  We did however find another old small cemetery that El Matador knew along the way, it was the old Lebanon Cemetery with gravesites from the 1800’s still there.

Once we made it all the way to Houze Way we hung a left and then left again on Alpharetta Highway to enter the Greenlawn Cemetery & Mausoleum.  Luckily it was open 24 hours, so we ran in and took a large lap around the lake and back to the gates.

Then the run got a little fun heading back up 140 as traffic got heavier and we got to p[lay some more dodge car on a few spots that got a bit dicey.  But all made it safely and returned right on time to see Ha-Ha and Turbine circle back for the 5 mile route on time as well.

Special Halloween treat provided for all who joined as well, a little something for the parents/older kids to hopefully enjoy.

COT:

A few upcoming announcements and prayers that Caffey feels better soon.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Appreciate everyone who came out in the colder rain to join me in the gloom on this Halloween morning.  Always a please and honor to work out with you men.  Thanks!
