Preamble:

As I’m sure is the case with most Pax, I wanted to be sure my VQ was organized and went well. I didn’t stress too much about it. I found a beatdown that went well that we haven’t done in a while. Something relatively easy that runs itself. I copied over some songs to my phone, got the bluetooth speaker charged up, found enough cones in the sports bin, and printed out each station. In the morning, the weather was perfect and setup was simple. The crew seemed ready to rock so we didn’t waste any time.

Warm-O-Rama:

We did a quick mosey over to the parking lot. I figured I couldn’t go wrong with the Norseman trifecta of Side Straddle Hops, Weed pickers, and Imperial Walkers. We did lucky number 13 of each and then walked a few more feet to the circle of death.

The Thang:

Exercise stations around the circle for a standard tabata workout. 20 seconds on 10 seconds off for 4 rounds. After the cycle we did a lap around the circle and advanced one station clockwise. All of our favorites were represented.

  1. Hand release merkins
  2. Squat Jumps
  3. LBCs
  4. Burpees
  5. Monkey humpers
  6. Freddie Mercurys
  7. Reverse lunges
  8. Plank jacks
  9. Shoulder taps
  10. American hammers
  11. Mountain climbers
  12. Gronks
  13. Skull crushers w/girlfriends
  14. Curls w/girlfriends

We ended a few minutes early so Ha-Ha split us in 2 groups for a rousing game of row row row your girlfriend and then Delorean gave us a preview of Thursday with various plank exercises. From there we did a quick mosey back to the flag.

COT:

Some various quips here and there but not many announcements or prayers. I’m sure there was one in there but I had post-beatdown brain at that point.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

All kidding aside, I want to thank FICO for introducing me to F3 and especially to the gentlemen from the Norseman. The weekly beatdowns and camaraderie are always a high point of my week. Even with a gimpy leg, it was an honor to lead the crew today and I look forward to many more!
