The Thang:

Today we tried something new.  Rather than the standard beat down we did a mosey/shuffle/walk around the park.  The kicker was each man carried a burden.  The burden consisted of sand bags ranging from 35-70lbs, a 35lb kettle bell, a 41lb weight vest, and coupons from the pile of various sizes.  We stopped approximately every 3-5 minutes and excited 42 reps of various exercise.  YHC can’t remember the exact ones but we did the standard Merkins, LBC etc.  After each exercise we rotated burdens.  PAX found some easier than others.  We made our way around the entire park and ultimately back to the coupon pile.  This is where the magic happened. There we returned 1/2 of the burdens.  From the pile to the Flag we shared each others burdens and team carried everything back to the flag.  The pace increased drastically and you could feel the excitement as we realized its much easier to not go it alone.  We returned to the flag and did 1 min of Mary.

The moral of the beat down was 2 part.

  1. Every man deals with burdens differently.  What seems easy for one is hard for another. Therefore we should not make light or judge how a man deals with things.
  2. When we walk along beside our brother and help shoulder his burden with him for a season things get way easier.  WE DO NOT HAVE TO WALK ALONE!

COT:

Prayers for Brothers going through hard times.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

It was a pleasure to lead today.  If you have something you have been carrying don’t hesitate to reach out to your brothers.
