There’s strong….and then there’s COUNTRY strong

AO: Boneyard

When: 06/06/2022

QIC: Dinghy

PAX (5): DREAMER, FannyPack, RaspberryPi, Sugar (Hooch - Gwinnett)

Preamble:

We’re all trying to get stronger, but as many of us who have played sports or lived in the weight room realize, there’s a difference between weight training strength and COUNTRY strength – the kind where tires and cinder blocks get lifted all day long vs. a short 45 minute beatdown. Today was a day YHC tried to keep those lifts going to full BD to build the strength needed to build a blockhouse (or at least a small patio to check that box on the honey-do list).

Standard disclaimer was given….and off we went.

Warm-O-Rama:

10 of each of the following:

Weedpickers

Windmills

Michael Phelps(s)

Copperhead squats

SSH’s.

Pick up your coupon, and go to the side parking lot for……

The Thang:

Part 1 – the Country 4-Corner Store Killer B’s Up/Down Ladder (HA!)

Did the following exercises in reps of 5-10-15-20-25 (and then on down), moving corner to corner with the coupon in Zamperini fashion:

4-count Bodybuilders (with block)

Bent rows

Block Merkins/Blerkins

Big Boys w/block

Hold blocks in Zamperini for the 6

Part 2 – 11’s

Curls for the girls / goblet squats with a farmer’s carry between each. In the interest of time, cut farmer’s carry at 6/5 and completed evolution of curls/squats. And that was TIME…..

COT:

Continued plug for the upcoming blood drive. Check SLACK for details once the days are set

Prayers for Sugar’s 2.0 as he heads to camp (travel mercies to/from), and for YHC as experiences his first day of searching for his next adventures

Naked-Man Moleskin:

We may not have gotten the wind from a no-mosey day, but we sure got stronger……YHC keeps having to find new and exciting ways to test the limits of the PAX. Fortunately, iron does sharpen iron, and the limits keep getting expanded. Great way to start the week, men. I now need to go back to the lab and figure out how to move the needle yet again!
